not that easy now day

All of my brokers have been complaining about how they are having to put out fires these past two weeks.

I tell them to just leave me alone and ride it out. Any trading I am going to do ... I put the orders in myself.

Now is not a bad time to buy.

Yes ... ride it out, especially if you're under the age of 50. Mine will go to my wife, in a Trust, for the kids when I die, when she passes, so I'll be riding-out whatever in perpetuity.

It always goes back up and will continue to do so as long as this country remains Capitalist and free. And if that ever comes to an end ... none of it will matter.

Im not in personal wealth mgmt. When I say Now Days I mean like the last 4-5 years that I've been out of college and working, not these last 2 weeks. (and it's been like this well before that too)

I work in a group who's major clients are the hedge funds, asset mgmt firms etc.
If you get a chance watch the movie on netflix called the pit.

That's what new age trading has gotten to now. So there's no "skipping out early" anymore.

Unless you're a 60 year old MD who's on the way out.

Definitely not here. No loyalty whatsoever either.
Just gotta always look over your back and when you get a chance step over someone when they are down.

Def learning.

Yo, what the frick did you guys let happen to Finlay Park since I've moved? I know it's been a place for the homeless for a long time now, but what the hell is this?

quote:

The view atop Finlay Park is supposed to be the stuff of postcards — a hill near the Governor’s Mansion overlooking 17 acres of greenspace, water cascading from a spiral fountain into a man-made pond and Columbia’s skyline peaking above canopy trees that offer shade along winding foot paths.

But the public park that the city once promoted as an “oasis in the heart of downtown” more recently to some has become a neglected eyesore. The fountain hasn’t pumped water in years. The trees on the hillside are overgrown, blocking views and causing a daily headache for maintenance crews.

On a typical day, the park is mostly populated by crowds of the homeless. After years of talk about improving the historic park, which predates the Civil War, Columbia officials are now considering spending as much as $30 million. The city could also sell a piece of the park or hand over part of its control to an outside company.

City leaders are requesting submissions from private firms for project ideas through October, signaling the likelihood of at least some form of private development at the park for the first time in its history.

Those submissions are sealed, but a person with knowledge of some of the proposals described them to The Post and Courier.

Its awful. My sister lives in a townhouse right behind the Gov Mansion, and she used to go over there to exercise. Not anymore.

Hell. I’d fix the SOB place up for a lot less than 30,000,000. Why did they let it go to hell like they did. Il tell you. South Carolina is a conservative state but the mayor is a POS libtard. Nuff said.

Its Hobo-central now. No one goes to enjoy it since they decided it is now their headquarters. Sad though, I loved that park.

I was by there the other day. It's a shame what has happened to that park. Every major world class city has a downtown park and we'll need to have ours if we ever want to be taken seriously.

Unfortunately neither the mayor or city council are world class city leaders.

It's a damn shame.

They cod easily contract out to two or three big landscapers and keep that park clean and manicured. What they are not willing to do is provide the law enforcement dedicated to keeping the riff raff out and the park safe and secure. A series of bad happenings there is what led to the current situation.

Hell, they're not willing to fix Five Points and it is a major source of income for the city.

:::::: sighhhhhhhhhh :::::: don't get me started.

Rooster is correct. If there was an actual police presence ( sad because the police station is a block away) and they did there job then it wouldn't be the way it is. I used to walk my chow- chows down at the park but it became shady going there so I stoped as have many.

Very bad not to read. I can't eat without having something to read and have been that way since I was a child.

My suggestion is find a common enemy of your peers. Take the spotlight off the new kid.
