It’s two weeks of hell time on the rant. Why does LSU/Bama always have to have a bye

They kept telling us that there was going to be a makeup game ... but they were supposed to have details to us during the off week. They promised us that, if there was going to be a game the details would be released during the off week.

When I asked about it Friday while speaking to someone in the know at The Rice Shack ... it ain't happenin' "as of now."

I was told something "might" change, maybe, but as of now it's not happenin'.

Based strictly on tone and how it was brushed off in front of the group I was with ... I'd bet it's not gonna happen. Now, I may be wrong but from what I understand they couldn't get anyone to agree to play the game for various reasons not the least of which was money.

If they wanted us to come there (Va Tech and NC State) they were not willing to pay enough.

They were not willing to come here to play unless we were willing to pay too much.

Marshall just said frick it basically ... they had no interest in a make up game on the road. They feel like they can win the Conf USA Title this year and that they'll be playing in the title game that weekend.

What could change.

NC State could quit being pussies and admit they are not going to the ACC CG that weekend.

Va Tech = pussies.

Marshall could lose a couple of games in the next couple of weeks and give us a call asking us to pay their travel and a million bucks to play the game.

NC State doesn't want to take the beating. They figure if they win out this season they'll get a better bowl in the ACC pecking order that will pay more than we will pay them to throw a beatin' on'em.

Like I was saying ... it's more than likely not going to happen. As it was mumbled to me when I asked the question, "wouldn't benefit anybody involved."

I didn't push it - wasn't the time or place.

Yep ... was just coming here to post that they did a deal with ECU.

So that's that ... but it makes good sense for both of those schools honestly.

long shot, but...

Liberty U has a hurricane makeup game vs MEAC/FCS Norfolk State on 12/1. Flames are 4-3 so far this year playing as a FBS Independent.

I suspect if USC offered Liberty the same money we did Marshall originally or to come down 12/1 - they might consider cancelling the Norfolk game altogether and come to W-B. LU/NSU game would be cancelled anyways if NSU were to qualify for FCS playoffs - but they won't.

Liberty in their inaugural FBS season and even though their overall endowment is not hurting, they'd probably jump at a chance for a payday and elevate their brand playing USC. they're playing at Virginia Nov 10, at Auburn Nov 17, and actually have a home & home this season with New Mexico State.

yes but a win vs ranked Michigan State.

Anything can happen, and I don't see that large of a gap among any of the teams in that division.

And they played Michigan close (only lost by 3)

We'll see if they can take hold of first in the division this weekend.

Really love that program and their coach.
