Did 107.5 drop Captain Telegram's traffic reports?

Capt Telegram was a joke. Someone hired him to sing to my boss a few years back, and she wasn't having it. They paid him and he still raised hell at the people who hired him, because my boss didn't want him to sing.

The new lady is Joy Blanchard or something like that. Sounds like a generic traffic lady, because the other morning she was talking about a wreck on 485 and Arrowood which is in Charlotte.

I'm still trying to get over the fact he actually has a telegram service. Not sure why his name never gave it away.

It would be worth it to have him go deliver a nice little parody of Tiger Rag that tRant helps us compose the lyrics to....to none other than Dabo himself.

His trolley service was hired for my buddy's wedding in Columbia a few years ago to take the wedding party from the church to the reception.

All of us groomsmen were avid 107.5 listeners, so it was a surprise to learn that not only did Captain Telegram actually call himself "Captain Telegram" in person, but he also operated a trolley service where he personally drove the damn trolley.

I remember as we were loading onto the trolley, one of the groomsmen asked Captain Telegram "How's the traffic outlook, Cap?"

I guess this pissed Captain Telegram off because he yelled back "I'm not doing that right now!"

It was also a mid-June wedding where it was basically over 100 degrees out, so it was hot as hell in his trolley and we were trying to open the windows on the ride to the reception, but the windows wouldn't open. When one of the girls asked him how to open the windows, he shouted from the driver's seat "We'll be there in a minute!!"

That's when we all knew that Captain Telegram was an a-hole, so screw him and his shitty traffic reports.

Maybe because I'm young but Local Sports radio just doesn't do it for me.

I'd rather podcasts or reading blogs/twitter/message boards.

I'd rather ESPN radio any day. Don't need some jerk offs telling me about USC. Rather hear about what's going on in the world of sports then check where I want to for USC news.

I enjoy Heath Kline's 5 stories at 5 that he does every day. Typically, I'll turn it off once he goes to the phone afterwards. I don't really like call-in segments.

I think he is where he is for a reason. There was a guy on 107.5 that was really good and he left to go to Nashville a few years ago. I think his name was Calvin Haney. I really do miss that guy, he had a lot of really good insight on what was going on.
