Frank is terrible at recruiting. Wouldn't mind to see him leave.

Who is the next instate prospect that Frank loses?

I mean it's not like he took us to our first Final Four just two seasons ago or anything.

I agree
I just wanted to know what you meant.
Every now and then you’ll see the “coach em up” teams in the final four.
But realistically you need top talent to win it.
Look at Nova. Jay Wright always couldn’t get over the hump had some solid teams here and there (and even those teams had one or two top ranked players-Scottie Reynolds, Randy Foye etc)
Then he starts recruiting at a higher level and he has 2 rings.
3 of his 5 starters were 5 stars, the other 2 top 50-100 players
Even Divincenzo, a 3 Star was still in the top 120 of his class and after 2 years became a first round pick

And exactly who would we get? Darrin Horn?
Frank is a great coach during a game and planning for a game but sucks at recruiting. On the flip side basketball isn't like football, these kids in aau play year round and are always traveling so they are used to not being at home.Since the latter parts of the 70's Gamecock basketball has been worse than mediocre and thats all recruits know. One, lightening in the bottle, final four doesn't change that.

We're going to be fine.
Frank McGuire built a juggernaut with out of state kids from NYC and Maryland.
Frank Martin will build ours with players who want to be here from Florida, NY, Memphis, Lithuania, etc., etc., etc., AND South Carolina.

I think your sticking your head in the sand or your expectations for our basketball program is so low you would be happy to go to the Big Dance every 5 years. We are missing on D-1 ready to play players and signing instead project players. Now Frank is a good coach but we will never be a yearly contender for the tourny recruiting like this. Frank's style of play also is out of date with the blue chip aau players so that turns them away from us. Look I like Frank and would like to keep him but he is going to have to make some major changes and I don't know if he is willing to do that. To say we will be fine tells me your are purposefully ignoring all the red flags.

I dont think we "have" to have sc giys to be successful...but a good balance is a huge help. Losing Gary sucks, but AJ Lawson abiet being from Canada is a hometown kid, both parents are from Columbia.

in the last couple years the city of Toronto probably has more talent than the entire state of South Carolina.

Just read on 247 that Cousinard has been sent home due to a follow-up review by our Admissions office.
He was cleared by the NCAA, SEC, and initially USC to enroll in June. He was on campus for a few weeks before something was flagged and he was told to return home.
My question: Just how in the hell does this happen? What kind of shite is going on with our Admissions office? I remember Spurrier complaining about this numerous times. Short of a severe moral flaw surfacing, there is absolutely NO reason for a kid to be cleared by all proper channels, admitted, then sent home.
It seems like USC is doing nothing to help Frank. Our AD's support/marketing of his successes has been downright embarrassing, and now our own Admissions office is screwing him over even further. This is the kind of stuff that makes coaches want to leave, and pushes other coaches away.
Anyone have any insight?

Yeah ... our admissions department is outta hand but Pastitides and Tanner are behind them so nothing is going to change.
This is actually old news, it's been out there about a week now. It has to do with a big rise in an admissions test score.
It's causing some issues and there's a little more to it than JC recently reported. He should really dig a little bit deeper before going off the deep end without all of the facts.
With that said, it's not over and the kid will probably still get in but the issues definitely needs to be cleared-up first.
Our admissions department used some great connections in Indianapolis to prevent what could have been a major malfunction ... everything will be okay in the end.
Frank Martin knows what's going-on.

Took me awhile to fly in on it but ,while I love ray as a coach, I don't think he should have been given the ad job based off of the baseball job. Nothing in his coaching resume said he had the ability to step into a sec ad job.

Josiah James out of Porter Gaud eliminated us.
Another swing and a miss on an in-state recruit.

Jalyn McCreary just committed.
6'8" Forward that can handle the ball. Top 150 recruit. Will be part of next years team.
Kudos to Frank. Cudd left and Frank jumped on Jalyn. Word is this kid is vastly underrated.
