Shame I've missed all our scoring because I've had college shite get in the way.

Beal Out Indefinitely

quote:

The South Carolina pitching staff has suffered a blow as junior Evan Beal will be out at least through the Clemson series and potentially the start of Southeastern Conference play. Beal, who did not pitch opening weekend due to a back injury, was to be counted on out of the bullpen this season.

Beal has a stress reaction in his back, which caused him to miss the first two weeks of preseason practice when the team returned in January. He pitched the final weekend before the season started but suffered a recurrence of the injury. He is scheduled to be reevaluated the first week of March after the series with the Tigers.

At the earliest, Beal could return for the series against Brown but it is more likely that he is healthy enough to see time on the mound the opening week of SEC play at home against Ole Miss.

Back injuries are no joke, I hope he takes as much time to rest as needed.

Agreed I played through one in HS during summer ball, literally constant pain in lower back, couldn't do any leg workouts. A lot of ibuprofen was used that summer.

Hopefully he recovers as soon as possible.

Sucks that I live in Mississippi. I don't get to watch a lot of SC games without spending some money.

Wizwig is the place to go to for streaming especially this thread I just linked. They do daily updates on the latest posts of games and giving out stream links. They do an excellent job.

Infact stream for tomorrow:

Friday @ 2:45 is when it should be available to watch.

First time since 1972 that SC has shutout opposing teams in 3 straight games.

I was able to catch sporadic parts.

Mont threw another game giving up 0 runs, but gave up 5 hits. SERIOUSLY, Mincy is Clutch, 4 batters, 2 KO's 0 Hits. . Seddon also got it done.

We were getting contact, we had a lot of fly outs. Had 2 HR's, (Martin and Schrock) Our batters only struck out once, EKU played good defense though and fielded really well, they turned several double plays on us.

Our defense and fielding has been really solid. We haven't allowed a Run in 33 Innings. We haven't committed an Error in the past 4 games. We're playing good ball, really proud of the way we've started, but there are a lot of games left.

Silly mistakes and sloppy play did show up a little bit today. Monty was pretty good for the most part, struggled with his change piece for a few innings but after he settled in he pitched well. Got out of 2 big jams with 1 out and a runner on 3rd and didn't give up a run.

Celek getting doubled up on a line out to SS, Bright not advancing to 3rd on Celeks single late in the game, could've given us another run b/c next batter would've had a sac fly are the only things I could really complain about. Regardless defense so far has shown to be much improved from last year.
