Both teams I thought played like complete shite. The real difference was they got to the basket more and we fouled them more, and then they made their FTs. (Well shite we did too but they took 36 (making 28) compared to our 19(making 14).

We are doing what we can with the talent we have. I don't see it getting much better with Frank at the helm.

no but luckily for us the Conference isn't either.

Saw a good post on 247 about this game

Now, this game was how I feel about the Martin era in a nutshell. Just when you think we've turned a corner and buy in and we're ready to take the next step into becoming relevant nationally, we blow the opportunity.
It's always one step forward, two steps back with Frank IMO. Multiple times in the past 5 years, you can see us on the cusp of being a great team but like clockwork every time the opportunity presents itself, we fail the test.
1. Best team since he's been here hype all preseason then Boston and Stetson debacles. 2. Think we suck and going to be long season, then we seem to figure things out and finally start getting noticed and getting on bracketology and we lose the first chance we get to build on that. 3. Hell the GIANT step forward we took with the final 4 resulted in two steps back immediately after.
The fans want to buy in and the support for this team is ready and there for the taking. It's so frustrating as a fan to feel so close and get your hopes up only to continually be let down. At some point when you keep knocking at the door, eventually nobody is going to answer it. I think the fans will still show up and answer the knocking against LSU on Saturday but this is a MUST WIN not only for this year, but maybe for Frank period. It's time to turn the corner.

I don't think losing at MSU is a big deal.. I'm still pissed about Boston U and Steton, and to an extent the away game at Tennessee.

I believe the loss last night may have only been a Q1 loss (or so they said)
not sure what BU or Stetson Quadrants are but maybe it would help if both made the tourney, which both do have a chance at (via their Conference tourneys)

Hope we can get into the NIT. Never thought NCAAT was possible IMO.

If we keep a winning record in conference and overall I’ll think well be in
(NIT)

Here's to hoping we win the conference tourney and/or that Lawson comes back for his junior year. Our guard play has been TERRIBLE since the FF.

As far as what I follow. He's fallen very low to off many mock drafts.
He could go to the combine again I guess, not sure how that works.

I think Dozier was in a similar situation. I'd give it a 75-80% chance right now that Lawson declares next month.

I think Dozier would have stayed has the FBI case not been made public

What if we win out the regular season and 2 games in the SECT? Would we make the NCAAT in this scenario? I know it depends on a lot of other teams... guess we should just wait and see. We will probably lose to Alabama and Mississippi State (again) anyway.

22-12 (12-6) looks good on paper
But we went 25-9 (11-7) in 2015-16 and didn’t get in
So I’ll probably say no.

that 25 win season, our non conference was paper thin, this year it was far better. Losing the games we lost hurt, but 22 wins would get us in. I dont see that happening though. plus if you get 22 wins, youre going to be a double bye, and if you win 2 games there you might as well win the 3rd and get the automatic bid

And the SEC was regarded as extremely weak. The SEC only got 3 bids that year.
I got really angered that they stuck 19-11 Vandy in ahead of us. Sure they may have had a better OOC but we had a better record overall, the same record in conference, and beat them head to head.
I also thought our win at Texas A&M would carry more weight. That was the only home game they lost that year and I think they tied UK for the SEC regular season championship.
Man, we would be the P5 school with the most wins ever to not get in the tournament.
eta: Our OOC scheduling wasn't all that bad now that I look at it. We just couldn't help that St. Johns, Clemson, and Memphis would all be dog shite that year.

I mean if you look at brackets now it’s around the same
Maybe 4 bids?
Our conference gets a lotta shite from the selection committee. 22 wins in the ACC Big East or Big Ten gets us in.

UGA and us contributed to that look, along with Vandy.
we were the team that lost to Boston and Stetson and then we go out and beat UK and a few others. Vandy beats LSU, and UGA beats Auburn. We have been that team that hurts the SEC for a few years now, since we cant get through the OOC unscathed according to the metrics
