I moved away 20 years ago, and I only get back once or twice a year.

I’m bringing a lady there in a few weeks (no pics). She’s really into food (works for Food Network) but she’s never been to New Orleans.

Help me plan a killer weekend. It’s going to be a quick trip

We arrive on a Saturday afternoon
We leave late Monday
Staying on Canal

She’s left the itinerary up to me, but mentioned a few things.

She wants to hear live music
She wants to have a Ramos Fizz at the Roosevelt.
Best poboys in New Orleans
Beignets at Cafe Du Monde

We won’t necessarily get a car, but we can.

I’d like a mix of casual earlier and higher end at dinner.

Saturday afternoon through Monday night...How would you play it?

For the music, go to the Davenport Lounge at the Ritz Carlton. I was there last night.

Skip the car and use Uber or Lyft.

Agree. I was there 2 weeks ago and NOLA is great for those services.

For what it’s worth here is what we did.

My reviews are there but other people’s comments and ideas will be great for you as well.
Go to brunch at Atchafalaya in Monday!

100%. They play 10-2AM on Saturday... thats the night u want to go. I would recommend an afternoon Sazerac @ Roosevelt, Uber to a nice dinner, then Uber to the Ritz for nightcap & jazz at Davenport Lounge.

Dinner - Since u only get 2 while there, pick from these and u wont go wrong: Peche, Herbsaint, Cochon, Le Petite Grocery, Coquette, Arnaud’s

Sunday brunch would be great at a number of places, Commanders Palace, Atchafalaya, Tableau, Toups South, Arnauds (heard Avos is good).

U can do Beignets @ Cafe Du Monde whenever....

Poboys? I personnaly wouldnt go to Parkway, their food is so bland to me. I prefer Mahoney’s to most. Verti Marte, Parasols & Crabby Jacks are better IMO. R&O’s is good, some will say its “canned” but its in Metarie.

Good luck. B safe.

Agree with Frenchman Street. Start at DBA and then walk around and see what music calls your name in the other clubs

Only mistake I see. If you want Gumbo goto Mr B's and sit at the bar if you can't get a table.

Was actually thinking that the glaring omissions were two of my favorite dishes: BBQ shrimp and charbroiled oysters.

Can I get oysters at Mr B’s?
Shrimp at Dragos?
