Anything out of the Russian River Valley should be great. That valley is known for Pinot.
J Winery is my favorite, and sometimes, you can find the RRV bottle in store for around $40ish.

I don’t recommend the $20 from the grocery store.

If he gets more serious and keeps growing, that’ll be a good time to get him a sold used set (or new depending on your budget).

If he gets up over 6’ I would get a basic fitting for length and lie angle.

Judges have a difficult job.

However, judges who consistently make terrible decisions or let criminals walk need to be held accountable.
