 Love that place! Still think about the cheese board, let alone all the world class lambic on the menu.

FBD St. Arnold Grand Prize on tap

Got a HR duel budding between Caminero and Alvarez.

Happy 250th America! :USA:

Yall have no idea how good you have it in BR. I would kill for an Albasha in central texas. All the middle eastern restaurants here aren't even close as good as Albasha or the others in BR.

I have noticed that a lot of people who move out of town will tell you Albasha is the first place they want to go to when they are back visiting. They have had good locations across the city for decades and I’ve always found them to be quick, reliable, and fairly consistent. I think it is a nostalgic thing. People love their salad dressing and I think the rice pilaf is the best in town. The shawarma and hummus are about the same as the other great places. Same for the pita, except for Roman’s at Perkins/Bluebonnet which definitely has the best pita in town. Roman’s would probably be my favorite, but Albasha is always in the mix.

No way I would call Albasha the best restaurant in town, but I could see how someone would say it is their favorite.

I love all of their products, Cleveland Kitchen. Lots of fermentation.

Same. The different sauerkrauts and the pickled onions. All great.

I don’t know anyone else IRL who buys this stuff, but you people are out there somewhere.

It really sucks competing for goods with 50 million people who shouldn't be here.

You're seeing them as consumers who buy things, but forgetting they are also the workers who produce things. Those 50 million people are the ones harvesting the food, driving the delivery trucks, building the houses, and staffing the service jobs. If they all vanished tomorrow, labor shortages would skyrocket, production would stall, and your grocery, housing, and service bills would actually go up, not down.

Breweries without a good location or robust distribution are hurting everywhere. Gone are the days when you can run a taproom in the back of a light-industrial park with a few taps around town.

This is how I see it as well. And if you don’t already have robust distribution, it seems like a pretty daunting task to improve upon at this point. There just aren’t many new beer drinkers.

I’d be curious how Rally Cap is doing since they fall more into the latter of what you describe, very similar to Agile, but a little more centrally located and little nicer space.

I’d imagine Grain Creations moving in next door to Agile didn’t help. I thought Agile brewed good textbook beer, but it was never anything that interesting and the lineup got pretty stale to me. Also, I never liked Agile’s branding - too cold and techy.
This thread simply reinforces my belief of how many of my peers are low-key getting major handouts from their parents. Nothing wrong with that on a micro level, but I've noticed it is something they are reluctant to admit IRL.

These kind of actions do further perpetuate the reality that so much of your success in life is predicated on the wealth of your parents.

Only the good ones.

NBD - Zilker Parks & Rec

Yes sir - Jason Isbell at the Long Center tonight
SBD - Pinthouse Garden Lotus Alsatian Pilsner

FBD is a Jester King La Petit Prince. First time having on tap! Very refreshing.

Tax increase for teacher pay raise will never pass. Too many children attend private school. Why should parents who pay for private school pay for an increase in salary for public school teachers?

Not in Livingston parish. One of the main reasons people move there is for the public schools.
Since you’re already shopping at Costco, try the Kirkland Signature Helles-Style Lager. It’s brewed by Deschutes and very good for the price.

They clearly aren’t repeating on this 9 show run.

I’m hoping they do one on the last encore to troll.
I went Friday and Saturday last weekend. Friday was great and Saturday was another level. I’ve liked what I’ve heard and seen from this weekend so far. Will be interesting to see if they go no repeats next weekend, I’m assuming so.

JF been in decline for years. Price gouging and headline performers that come are nowhere near what they used to be years ago. Following reflection the attendance decline.

I was out there yesterday. It was absolutely packed and I had a great time. Someone must have forgot to tell everyone.
I love sashimi and other small plates that emphasize high-quality raw fish like toro, uni, or salmon belly, but I will still not tolerate Philly roll slander.
