Was sent that he might transfer to y'all. Anyone else see this?

Seen it speculated by fans but nothing beyond that. If he is just depth because Calzada is transferring that’s fine but we are in trouble if he’s starting for us next year. I was not impressed at all with him at FSU

I asked my brother in law and was like but why? He said that if they do take him Jimbo knows him and he's serviceable just in case.

Jimbo was burned in 2017 with the string of QB injuries and had to start a true freshman. He never wants to be in that position again, and given that it's likely Calzada will transfer after the Spring barring an injury to Haynes King (who is just a superior player in nearly every way except raw arm strength) we'll be left with a RS freshman and a true freshman on scholarship at QB.

We need a transfer who is comfortable with likely being the backup.

I've seen it elsewhere as well. I'd expect it, because we are probably going to lose Calzada to the portal in the Spring at the latest

Calzada should stay put until next year. 247s transfer portal tracker shows 73 QBs currently in the portal or that have already found teams. Especially with transfers counting towards the 25 counter limit, guys are going to be left with nowhere to play.

I agree he should stay. Problem is that he's been passed up by a true Fish who is getting rave reviews behind the scenes. He would need something drastic to happen in order to start

Something drastic like the starter getting hurt on the first drive of the first game? That's exactly how our current QB got his first shot. I see your point but there are worse positions to be in than #2 at an SEC school with 4 years to play. Mac Jones was passed by Tua and never going to start. That worked out pretty well for him.

There has never been a worse time to be a transfer QB. There are going to be guys who get left with nowhere to go that won't be on scholarship after this.

I hope Calzada sees it that way. We need the depth
