This is a really down year for Arkansas high school football, huh?

I noticed all eight of our recruits were 3* (but not one under an 85, so that's not bad), and I was wondering why Pittman & Co. haven't pulled some of in the top AR recruits yet, since recruiting is supposed to be their specialty. I looked on 24/7 and we only have one 4* in-state for this cycle, and he's just rated 90.

Talk about the worst possible year for the state to be having such a threadbare outing. Are we prepared to have an underwhelming '21 signing class, or do we have some legit blue chip players from neighboring states we have a real shot at?

Considering the first time for the coaches to get any prospect on campus appears to be potentially on game days, I think this cycle is a wash and do the best you can with the situation.

Not having any visits - unofficially or official all spring and no summer camps hurts especially for a new staff.

There also won't be the camps high school players attend that are "scouted" by the website recruiters. Typically in state players who attend these camps/events and do well go up in the rankins, 24/7/Rivals/ESPN are not sending scouts to watch high school games in Arkansas to accurately rank players.

So in 3 years you'll be hearing how was "so and so" only a 2*/3*?

Ketron Jackson and AJ Green are probably the best we have a shot at currently. Raheim Sanders is announcing on the 8th too. All of those are 4-stars. One thing I like is Pittman is recruiting Oklahoma better than past coaches. A few of our commits could be bumped up to a 4*.

A little surprised we aren’t on more highly rated OL given Pittman’s history but maybe once he coaches a few games we’ll be able to re-evaluate.

Bielema was quoted as saying he was shocked at how close Tulsa was to Fayetteville. This was during year 4 of his tenure........

How can you live in Fayetteville for 4 years and not know about Tulsa? It's closer to campus and produces more talent than little rock.

Not to mention the sizable amount of fans we have in and around the Tulsa area. We have a Razorback Club in the Greater Tulsa area (RBC #27). I also believe we have an Alumni Association branch in Tulsa as well.

This question/comment occurs every year this time of year.
then you know what happens? Bama, Auburn, Baylor, mizzou comes in and offers a guy not rated and he ends up a 4* by signing usually he leaves the state. I'm not saying we have an overwhelming amount of talent in Arkansas but several take an outsider to get them ranked .. hell, Dre greenlaw was committed to ASU until the 11th hour.

When you're a lazy drunken idiot collecting huge checks and has no idea how to recruit this typically happens.

We are a small state. We will extremely rarely have more than 4 or 5 that can really help us, sometimes even less.
We will always take a couple that are marginal, and that we hope can develop down the road.

This topic was not intended to be that. I've never looked at the in-state haul and saw that we had one solitary 4* player, who was ranked almost as low as possible while still retaining 4* status - we actually are seemingly worse off than usual in our own back yard. Dale's explanation made a lot of sense to me.
