I was raised a Baptist (albeit in the North). Never got told not to read Harry potter. I simply chose not to because it did not interest me

OG Pet Semetary. I watched it anyhow. I wish I didn’t. I was afraid of couches and beds for weeks after that because of the scalpel to the ankle scene.

I've never been to a normal Baptist church (or any church for years for that matter) but I'm told southern Baptist is a whole different animal in comparison.
Our youth pastor told our youth group that we should never ever drink even a sip of wine ever, even after we were old enough and that "it doesn't matter that Jesus drank win in the bible, they made wine differently back then so that was completely different"

Mine weren't quite that bad. We still did the Lord's supper with wine.

My father took me to see Cheech & Chong's Up in Smoke at the theater and he laughed harder than I've ever seen that night.

My folks would get the DVD episodes of the Sopranos from Blockbuster when I was like 8, would sneak it into my room and watch it on my PS2 (worked my first HVAC job with my uncle to pay for it, Dark Cloud and Jak & Daxter Precursor Legacy)

The Sound Of Music. They knew it sucked.

My dad loved going to the movies and basically took me to whatever movie he wanted to see. As a young kid I saw Porky's, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm St, etc. I guess times were a little different then.

Stag films
8mm black and white with heavy bush action.
Only other films you watched at home were home movies or "cause" films where they cam in your home to recruit for missionary work and such.

My parents had the 2 part VHS set of it. I was forced to watch it once. Never again...
