Leave your car at home. Parking on campus can be a pain in the butt and with the free public transit you can easily get to anywhere in Fayetteville you need to go. Once he moves into the guest house then its time to break out the car. It will just be a needless expense until that happens.

I've tried to suggest this but his momma keeps coming back with but how will he get home. I say catch a ride but she's just not sure about that

I have several uncles who have grandchildren going to Fayetteville. When this issue is brought up, they chime in every time about how they hitchhiked back and forth from south Arkansas to Fayetteville in the late 50s.

Maple Hill will be mostly Dallas types/or money people from NWA. Nearly the entire place will go Greek.

If I could do it over, I'd stay in Hump area, any of those dorms really. I regretted the Maple Hill location badly. I also didn't go Greek but still, the location of those surrounding Kimple etc is ideal. Felt I would have connected with more people my type as well.

There were so many freshmen this year they actually opened up some of the “Apartment” dorms to the , which are usually reserved for upperclassmen. They are pretty far from the center of campus but really nice.
My daughter is a freshman in Walton - she lives in Founders. It is the perfect location, right across the walkway from the business school, has a dining facility attached as well as a couple of the “restaurant” style dining options (pizza, Indian, Starbucks, sushi…which can all be used with the dining plan), pretty close to the union, just up the hill from the stadium, and is actually ON the top of Dickson st. And right around the corner from the bus stop. Each room has their own thermostat which is nice.

I had the pleasure of staying in Hump dump the last year it had no A/C. Actually liked it though. Was much better than my pomfret experience

I'd lose my mind without some wheels in college. Also, if he manages to meet some gal and wants to take her out?

If you are on campus its faster to stroll to Dickson street than drive there and try to find a parking place. A hell of a lot cheaper too, which means you can spend more money on your date.

If you are off campus that changes everything. You don't have to have a car but it comes in real handy.
