Lets give credit where its due, despite a bad 1st qtr with the offense turning the ball over and a horrible PI call on 3rd down they really settled in and made Bama earn every yard they got after.

Bama had like 10 yards in the 2nd qtr.

Yeah it’s hard to blame Grantham for what happened yesterday.

After the first quarter, scheme wasn’t the problem.

Just missed tackles and penalties on 3rd downs, Bama must have had at least 5 penalties given to them on 3rd down from PI calls.

Also give a shoutout to the OL who did very well most of the game and to Emory Jones who took some steps forward in the 2nd half.

IMO on the 2 pt Conversion we should've had Pierce in the game and just gave him the ball to bull his way forward. Just my .02

I expected our offense would have to win a shootout to get a W. I didn’t think our defense would be able to slow them down.

As suspect as Grantham’s defense has looked lately, I thought they did a good job.

3 punts to end the first half and only 10 points in the second half. They kept us in the game and gave us a chance to win - especially considering the weak PI calls.

Yeah defense deserves way more credit than they are getting right now.

Our biggest problem with the defense is starting slow its almost like hey Bama is up 21-3 let's play some ball.

Hopefully this performance will propel them to play like this every week. If the Defense can play like this every week the rest of the way we will have a really good chance to play in the SEC championship game there is a long way to go but the opportunity will be there especially with a healthy A.R. 15

What's the Depth Chart look like without Ventrell Miller?

Defense switched to zone which was the big key. Going into the game though I think the right call was made. Press man was played and we were aggressively going after Young. The problem was it just didn’t work. We adjusted and went zone and kept everything in front of us and from there Bama looked like a normal offense. The scheme was actually not bad, we just couldn’t tackle one on one and lacked the speed to keep up with their receivers. Once we went zone our defense looked far better. Add in our Defensive line help up the Tide rushing attack like absolute horses. This UF team is way better than people thought. Jones is still a major liability unfortunately but Mullen is so good at what he does, he schemed around his limitations. I still think Richardson is talented enough to make us title contenders, where as Jones just isn’t good enough to put the team on his shoulders and go all the way. Richardson may not be either, but we are sure Jones can’t. So why not…try?

The problem with our defense is nobody apparently can make an open field 1 on 1 tackle. I'd run tackling drills till the sunset everyday until they figured it out.

On a positive note, our d-line didn't register sacks like they did the first two weeks but they played a hell of a game in my opinion. Holding Bama to around 100 yards rushing is something.

Tackling in the open field was terrible, a least a dozen missed tackles gave up first downs and scores. This was one of the 3 main reasons why we lost the game.

Go look at what former Bama players did on Sunday this week. Guys that talented are just tough to get a clean tackle on in space. Of course the state of tackling these days doesn't help, but overall our boys did about as well as could be expected going up against a team full of 5 stars.

We played Alabama several times under Muschamp and McElwain. I never had a bit of hope in those games.

With the way Mullen schemes and adjusts I feel like we have a chance to win every single game. Don't expect to, given the competition we face in the SEC, but at least it's possible. With a couple of years of full cycle recruiting momentum I think we are in a good spot.

Not really sure what to think of the defense as of now though they did look really good in the 2nd half. Just worried Grantham's schemes will create some problems in a few games.

The defense is still coordinated poorly. There is no excuse for Florida to be setting up with two high safeties on that last defensive possession and coming out not playing up tight to take away short passes was a costly error.

I listened to the gator nation podcast before and after the game. They called it before that game, said what bama would try to do and what we needed to do to stop it.

Apparently a couple of podcasters are better at defensive game planning than Todd grantham.
