So what should I expect from having to play Texas year in and year out?

I was born in ‘96 so I wasn’t really old enough to ever remember us playing the horns except for when we steamrolled them in the Texas bowl. But my grand dad loathes them with a deeper hatred than any team currently in the sec. what is it exactly about Texas that I can expect to be so appalling, just the general smugness of the fanbase?

96? Dude you’re a baby haha
Pretty sure any resentment or hatred I have against Texas was imparted from my father who witnessed 1969 loss to Texas firsthand.

The reason us older Hog fans hated Texas so much was because every time we played them it was like that 2009 game at Florida. Even when they didn't need the help.

I posted something similar over on the rant. I don’t hate everything Texass Longhorn because they beat us, I hate everything Texass Longhorn because they were cheating pieces of shite. We always had to beat them and the SWC officials too.

Paw Paw Frank should've kicked the FG in '69

Big 12 was more of the same

And don’t forget that the head of the NCAA enforcement was a huge horn booster as well during the SWC days

Frank never saw film of that game. He blamed the loss on himself. That game broke him and only last when he was only 52, which is still young in today's coaching.

It was my first heart break of my long time Hog fandom.

Chad Morris broke me.

The last Texas game memory I have of attending was in Little Rock early 90’s - doing the horns down out of the sun roof. I believe that was the time I was a little sloshy and tripped on the golf course as we left.

You certainly aren't alone on that. There were times some of my friends would get so drunk tailgating that we would have to leave them passed out in a chair or the bed of a truck while we went in to the game.

I think had Arkansas won the 69 game. Frank would have coached through the 80s but I'm not sure if he would have coached any longer than that.
