I think so.

There are diminishing returns at some point and I think 16 is pushing the limit on manageability.

Add UT and OU and be done.

Yes. And set the pods as such:

A : Texas, Aggy, Arky, Ole Miss

B : OU, LSU, Mizzou, Miss St.

C : Bama, Auburn, Tenn, UK

D : Florida, UGA, SC, Vandy

Not according to what I've been reading. Clemson's boards are indicating serious talks with the SEC, and FSU is also in talks w/the SEC. Have read talks of a 20-member mega conference. Who knows.

Anything more than 16 teams is no longer a conference. It’s a mini NFL/NBA.

I hope that doesn't happen

Why not have 4 five team pods?

WEST
Kansas
Texas
Oklahoma
Oklahoma state
Texas A&M

Central
Arkansas
LSU
Old Miss
Mississippi State
Alabama

North
Missouri
Tennessee
Vanderbilt
Kentucky
Clemson

East
Georgia
Auburn
South Carolina
Florida
Florida State

Play 4 intra-conference teams every year, 2 teams from each of the other PODS on home and away in consecutive years. Then play the other 2 teams in each respective POD the next two years on a home and away basis.

Each team would have 2 home and 2 away intra-conference games and 1 home and 1 away game for each of the respective remaining PODS.

This would give each university a 10 game conference schedule with 5 home and 5 away games, with an equal distribution of games for each team in respect to POD uniformity throughout the league.

If we choose to have 40 teams, we'll have 40.

It will eventually end with 3 major conferences: SEC, Big “Ten”, PAC

How is this good for CFB in the long term? The monopoly will eat itself.

Do not see it happening. The SEC has always expanded based on expanding their TV footprint. Neither school does that and will only take away money.

16 teams is enough. I just wish there was a way to rid this league of Vanderbilt and replace them with North Carolina or maybe Virginia Tech. Vanderbilt made a mockery of the SEC last year with the female kicker stunt. They need to go.

According to the law experts on the SECRant, Vandy's high SAT averages protect us from FBI subpeonas.

I believe the four 5 team pods is where we are headed. This turf war aint over yet.

Big10 looking to get a foothold in south and SEC blocking them. Clemson and FSU are automatic adds.

If your conference is so big you barely interact or play some of the other teams, it defeats the whole purpose.

I also don’t see us adding any teams from states where we already have a team. Texas is an exception, but I don’t see Clemson, FSU or Georgia Tech as viable.

The Big 10 should go after Georgia Tech.
