If there’s one thing I’ve learned during this shite show, it’s that folks in Texas simply cannot separate football from politics. All those years of basically being in the Texas Athletic Conference have them convinced that every athletic conference is an extension of the Texas state legislature, and that on-field success is determined based on back-room deals and campaign contributions.
