But seriously, we all know what this means when we ask will Bama benefit?

Expanded playoffs means yes.

Transfer portal means yes.

But ...

NIL means anal.

I don't think so. The most anyone could find from F***baum:

"I think it will probably send Nick Saban and every other coach up the wall, and it really depends on how he navigates that issue in terms of how many more national championships he wins."

Doesn't sound positive to me.

The nil could make some of those recruits choose another school
Do I want to sit behind top players for two years or go to a school and play immediately and reap the benefits of nil

I believe Saban will navigate it better than others but it is interesting to see what could happen with it.

First of all Finebaum is not human, he’s only half human, half space alien. Second, he cant think. Third, even if he could who would care?

How many things is this now that's supposed to have "killed Saban"? I hope you'll forgive me if I don't start weeping and gnashing my teeth just yet.

Typical Finebaum. He's just throwing darts into a blank canvas. If he ends up being right he'll paint a bullseye on it and talk about what a genius he is for having seen this coming. If not, you'll never hear of it again.

The way he put it was that it NIL was the only thing that could possibly take Saban down, and will be the biggest obstacle for him going forward.

Didn't take it at all like OP has presented it.

What the point of NIL? It brings in a lot of money to a key player and Nick will have to match it and then there will be other players too and Nick will have to match them all in order to get the players he wants and keep the ones already on the team!

But how much are you going to make in NIL playing for Troy immediately vs playing for Alabama in 2 years? I mean its not even close

Look up I-59 a few miles. Literally every Bama player can be driving a new Mercedes in exchange for a few appearances at the plant.

One hope is that it will create a little more parity. Instead of a Jeudy, Waddle, Smith, Ruggs situation, maybe it’s more lucrative for for a couple of those dudes to go be THE guy at a South Carolina/Kentucky.

Big IF, but could at least help move the needle back the other way.

Saban has navigated literally every change that has come down the pike better than everyone else, and everyone who hasn't spent the last 15 years stoned out of their gourd knows this.

You think Devonta Smith wins the Heisman and goes in the first round with Collin Hill throwing to him?

You do know what first round players make, right?

He doesn’t win the heisman if Jaylen Waddle doesn’t get hurt. Same premise. More marketing where you’re surrounded by less 5*.

If you think either Jeudy, Ruggs, Smith, or Waddle...pick either one...would have gone in the first round and made those millions with Collin Hill throwing to him, you just don't do football very well.

You actually think top players are going to care more about chump change from a Columbia car dealership than they do about first round NFL millions.
