The NCAA will not add any penalties to the ones South Carolina self-imposed following a DOJ investigation that resulted in charges against former Gamecocks assistant coach Lamont Evans. USC self imposed a fine, a two-year probation and recruiting limitations.

What penalties did we self impose?

We skipped a recruiting class and post season banned this year right? Anything else outside of that?

OSU got 3 years, a 1 year post season ban and 3 scholarships over 3 years which I believe basically reduces the total # allowed on scholarship from 13 to 12 for those 3 years. Evans was involved in both. I'm not fully versed in their case but I think it's slightly worse than what Person was accused of doing so I'm hopeful we have done enough to appease the NCAA. My one worry is with Pearl having a show cause in recent history they may be a little more hard line in our case even though it's shown that CBP was not involved.

My 2 cents. I trust in Rich McGlynn, he steered us through the Cam Newton nonsense. He still knows how the NCAA works. We took a calculated stance to ban ourselves from NCAA tournament this year and assumed that next year was going to be a better team. You never know with the NCAA, but I would bet they we discussed with them and they will accept our penalties. They may add probation years and a fine.
