I think the author sells Mizzou short but it's an interesting read.

Florida plays Bama and at LSU. UGA has a trap game at Mizzou after they battle Florida. Mizzou wins the East.

Meh. At some point the stars will align and Mizzou will win the east again. Might be a decade in between, but it will happen eventually. Doubt they ever win the SEC.

Which is funny because the way nay thing keeping us from winning the SEC and getting to the NC was a competent DC is 2013.

SDS is also a trash site.

Do I think Mizzou has the same ceiling now that it had in the Gary Pinkel era? No, not when it has to recruit against the SEC.

Drink will go down as the best recruiter Mizzou has ever had. What a frickwit.

How is this statement controversial? Outside Missouri, the majority of the players from Mizzou teams that won the East were from the Big 12 footprint.

I know it's early but if he can have an 8 or 9 win season and build on what he's done this year, I think he has a chance to be the most successful HC since Dan Devine.

Mizzou didn't stop recruiting Texas when they joined the SEC, and our recruiting under Drink appears to be better than it ever was in the Big 12 so "having to recruit against the SEC" is irrelevant

while true, Mizzou spent significantly less time and resources recruiting Texas. Pinkel really wanted to focus on Atlanta and Florida because we were in the east and the easy flights from CoMo to Atlanta. Pinkel thought those were easier sells than to texas kids would go an entire career w/out playing a game in texas.
