Yeah, Coach Sam did one helluva job salvaging that class. It helped a lot when our new DC robbed the Mizzou coffers of their best incoming talent at the time he agreed to be the Hog DC. But the "
Tell me what have he done as an OC in all his gigs? Missouri is very happy with Walters and we are set at the defensive side of the ball and Drinkwitz hired better offensive coaches than the one BO had when he was the HC at Missouri. So far I am very happy with the overall things Drinkwitz have done and he haven't coached a game for Missouri yet.

Bielema had a few decent teams that should have won 9-10 games during the meat of his tenure and we were really close to finally getting over the hump, but late in 2016 and around when Pittman left it was all starting to fall apart. Morris was definitely worse than Bielema and took us even further downhill but it wasn’t going to end well regardless.
Blame it on Pittman! He left Arkansas and that was the end of Good football without Pittman as the OL coach things went downhill. Blame it on Pittman for leaving Arkansas! Also he did not get an upgraded job but a lateral move and he hurt your football program!

You paint a pretty picture for Mizzou. All I'm saying is let's see what happens.

I kind of thought keeping Morris for another year would be worth it if he could keep the recruiting momentum going and leave a strong roster for someone who could do something with it. But with Pittman you've got a guy who genuinely wants to be there even if he doesn't have the HC experience, kind of the same approach with LSU when we hired CEO. It really shouldn't be as hard job of a job as it's looked the last few years and I think Pittman will get y'all on the right track
Coach O have coaching experiences at several places. USC and at Ole Mississippi. Also LSU have a lot better in-State recruits than Arkansas.

Bert needed to be pushed a lot if he was going to be successful. Jeff Long only cared a bout his image and made dumb comments on Twitter after the 16 season ended in a dud. He was fired in November 2017.
Bert has been the most part lazy but he has coached some games when his seat was getting warm or got blown out from a previous game. A good example is the Auburn drumming in 16 then turned around and beat a top 15 Florida team the next game.
But Bert just didn't have the work ethic needed to coach each game and all four quarters. This is where Bobby was so much superior.
I remember Bert had a cup of coffee in his hand before each home game. It has been talked a bout that Bert was an alcoholic and a serious one at that. I'm sure Long knew a bout it but didn't address the problem as it deals with his work performance.
The right or wrong AD makes all the difference In what direction the program goes. We were stuck with Jeff Long of all people.

Chad was a disaster. He’s the worst coach I’ve ever seen, totally clueless and the players hated him.
We aren’t expecting Pittman to win the SEC but he’ll at least stabilize us. Bert was actually building a solid program until Pittman left for UGA, it all unraveled.

I believe that Sam was the one that was actually coaching and not Bert. I believe the players liked him much more than Bert as you can see from all the comments from social media when he was hired.

There it is in a nutshell folks.
Hell, it is a documented fact that Bert liked to really take it easy in Summer training so his team would be "fresh" once the season started. The result, not surprisingly, was that we tended to start the season well behind everyone else in terms of conditioning and never caught up.
Bert could be a good coach. But you had to keep a fire under him and Long was never going to do that.

Miles' only win against Bert was 2013 with the hail Mary. And yeah that troglodyte would've been owned by Petrino had the latter stayed: didn't even beat John L Smith's team very soundly. I thought 2014-15 Arkansas were much better than their records, especially the latter, should've been a 10-11 win team

The 2014 team had so many excruciating close losses. OT against A&M, one point loss to Alabama due to a missed extra point, 7 at Mississippi State (who was #1 at the time), 7 at SEC East champion Missouri. And then beat the crap out of LSU and Ole Miss.
Quite a bit of future NFL talent on that team. Sucks we didn’t do better than 7-6.

I posted a list of the players that made NFL rosters on those 14 and 15 teams.
It is sickening the amount of waste was done with those teams.

They are not remotely better off! It's been a steady decline and it's almost unrecoverable at this point and Sam Pittman is a weirdo to boot.
