There are no plans to cancel classes. Texas A&M is not requiring that all courses move to an online format at this time. The university will continue to keep faculty, staff and students updated. Faculty will communicate with their students on changes. In addition, please check the university’s COVID-19 website for updates.

I’d bet it’s simply intended as some time to allow staff (not faculty) a couple of days for planning, since folks are off this week for Spring Break.
The timing is certainly lousy.

It gives a couple of days for students to come back see if there are any covid19 cases before classes resume. Probably the smartest thing to do and avoids the operation of just closing everything down.

Not surprised LSU fans are the ones who can’t understand the difference between a cold and a novel coronavirus.

Expect the list to grow.
As far as I’m aware, our university is the only one on Spring Break this week (I could be wrong).
A&M is likely using next Monday & Tuesday to rally the troops.

I expect all campuses to move to online classes for the rest of the year, before this is over. It's really the only prudent thing to do

Makes sense. Kids coming back from spring break no idea where they all visited.
