The secondary is (JMO) is the biggest issue going forward with the ILB situation next (those behind Moses). I am hopeful that a couple of these new freshmen can step and challenge the starters. 35,42,and 10 ain't it.

Poster on another site that keeps up with the numbers says Bama has to clear 8 guys to get to 85 by the time the summer freshmen arrive. We'll see.

The list is a who's who before spring ball. There is going to be a lot of mix and match for the OL. Right now Dickerson, Brown, Neal, and Leatherwood are the keepers regardless of where they end up on the line.

It's Harris, Sanders, Robinson and the "other" Robinson that are going to pay the bills. Mac will ride them like a rented mule. What's old is new again.

Bama is going to have the most dangerous special teams in the country. Thanks, Mr. Waddle. Unfortunately, we need a punter and Reichard's health is a big question mark still. So, I guess Special teams is still dangerous, just not in a great way.

On defense, DB is the big question. Who is our lockdown corner? Safety is Battle and everyone else. Nothing to really sweat out with the front 7. Plenty of depth and talent.

And who is this season's alpha dog? Sure hope we can find a handful.

Yeah I’m hoping we have some freshman burst on to the scene as the next great linebackers. Hopefully the front seven take big steps forward.

Secondary has plenty of bodies, we know Surtain and Battle have their spots. I think we should go ahead and pencil in Jobe also, I think the juco Williams will have a role in the defense, will it be star or corner? Will we slide Surtain to star again?

Hellams or Wright at safety?

Moses and Harris at the inside backers will be a great duo... This is a huge spring for Kaho and Benton.

What would you say is the ceiling of the 2020 front seven?

The Front 7 should be able to rotate in waves, which is awesome. My only concern is whether there are any true game wreckers up there. Barmore has flashed signs and maybe the rising sophomores plus some of the freshmen (Smith, Jackson if we get him) will add a little of that at DT or DE.

Still - really exciting to have that many talented, experienced bodies up there. It took 2 solid classes in a row, plus a season of growing pains, to get back to that. We haven't had this many legitimate bodies up front since 2016.

Will Anderson and Drew Sanders have a legitimate opportunity to come in and get serious PT and/or start.

Unlimited. Plenty of capable bodies to back them up. Saban has been stockpiling big, fast-twitch DL and OLBers and I think they are the best part of our defense this season.

If Scooby Carter ends up that low on the depth chart, it will be Scooby/Transfer Portal II

Poster on another site that keeps up with the numbers says Bama has to clear 8 guys to get to 85 by the time the summer freshmen arrive. We'll see.

The numbers are tracked/documented and available 24/7/365 on this site:

Roster/Depth (2020 Projected Roster) -- link is in the pinned Football Recruiting & Roster thread's 1st post for quick & easy access.

Actually, we now have 82 total counters. So, we'll need 6 more departures to fit the 9 new June enrollees within the 85 limit, plus another departure for each of the 4 recruits we appear likely to sign in February. Two of them are commits (Baker & Burroughs). So, assuming he was counting them when he said 8 (6+2=8) more spots (departures) will be needed, his numbers tracking is correct. Again, it might be up to 10.

Some of the guys listed in the 2-deep on those projected depth charts are also pretty likely to be among the 6 to 10 departures -- Brian Robinson, Tyrell Shavers, Giles Amos, Michael Parker, Chris Owens, Kendall Randolph, Markhail Benton, Jaylen Moody, Ben Davis, Joseph Bullovas, Skyler Delong.

If they can stay healthy, which based on recent experience is highly unlikely, that's an awesome lineup.

look for MOses to have a limited spring and may not participate in any live scrimmages? perhaps?

I would not mind this at all! In fact, I would be okay if he missed the whole spring and just took mental reps. Moses, Ray, and Dale could all miss spring and I’d be fine.

Those two plus Chris Braswell and Q Robinson are all very good, but they'll have a tough challenge to leapfrog Chris Allen, Jarez Parks, King Mwikuta & Kevin Harris.
