AL.COM Article w/ Updates on details

Really 3rd if you count Aniah who was from Homewood but went to school and murdered down in Lee Co

Paighton lived in Trussville, went to the Tin Roof in Lakeview and left with 2 men, texted some co-workers she went to the bar with that night that she felt she was in trouble

Was missing 20 days and 2 days ago Police received a tip and "descended" upon Hueytown and searched a coup,e neighborhoods and found her body buried in a shallow grave in the backyard of an abandoned house.

Such a sad and tragic situation

R.I.P. Paighton

Similar situation in Kentucky last year. Young mother of 4 out bar hopping left with a couple of guys and disappeared. Took months to get a confession.

She was 30 but wasn't married and no kids

Scary thing is...I have a couple co-workers, one in particular who made it a habit of going to Tin Roof 2 or 3 times a week after work

The house where she was found, looked from the pics like a squatter house since no one was living in it

It is a huge problem in most of the inner city of Birmingham, people who live out of the state or move loved ones out of houses...just pay taxes on them etc and the family it was left to doesn't want to move in...squatters will find out and move in

All of this is alleged and not necessarily a fact.

We do know that she was a recovering addict and there's a possibility that it lead to her death.

Hueytown is not inner-city Birmingham though

Loose talk is that house is her friends grandpa’s who is currently in the nursing home.

Tin Roof

The Lakeview District is fairly safe. Once again, the friend said Miss Houston left the bar with the individuals, but authorities can’t place it. The mother has stated the ‘Friend’ has changed her story multiple times.

It’s a very sad story, but from groups following this, has said Heroine was involved.

Take what I say loosely, because I’m not in LE, but not believing everything you hear and doing your own research is wise. A local news removed their entire article about her leaving because they jumped the gun.

We will see what the coroner says.

my wife has a theory

1st, the girl that died was a recovering heroin addict -- this is documented fact

2nd, NO ONE at the bar (including the security cameras) saw 2 heavy set black men

3rd, co-worker got a text that from the victim that said,"hey, I think I'm in trouble" and sat on it, did NOT go for help...

the theory: girl had a relapse and OD'd with coworker & the coworker is trying to cover up her part

it's a plausible theory, but no matter what, it certainly looks like the coworker is complicit in some way

My in-laws live in hueytown. Calling hueytown inner-city Birmingham is like calling stone mountain downtown Atlanta. They may be relatively close as the crow flies but not remotely the same thing.

I totally agree with that theory. I have friends of mine that were friends with her family and it is confirmed she was a recovering heroin addict. I think she relapsed and OD'ed and her friend got scared and had her phone and sent that text to cover their tracks. Eventually the truth will come out. I think if there were two heavy set black males it would be all over the news trying to identify who they were. Such a sad and tragic situation.
