It’s all we have for a comparison right now.

Rice beat Penn, who beat Bama at Bama.

VCU beat UNT by a point, who is currently leading LSU.

I know Arkansas will lose its share of games this season, but it’s certainly encouraging none the less.

It's certainly encouraging. Way too early to make anything of it but if Rice and UNT end up being solid teams this year then it bodes well for the Hogs.

It all depends on how the guards play. Everyone of them are going to have an off night, key is for the off nights not be the same night for several of them.

You can say we will rely on our defense, but all that will do is ugly up a game or keep it close you still have to get buckets to win games.

They guards could get hot and blow out Kentucky or they could be cold and lose to OM, that's basketball.

The biggest area of concern is Chaney being suspended and Henderson not getting any minutes, not saying he should, but they could use his size a few minutes a game and he showed potential in the NIT last year. Really everyone on the roster needs to know, learn, and embrace their role in order for the team to achieve success.

He did not.

Its a little puzzling, I understand Muss likes a 7-8 man rotation, but it is beneficial to be able to go 9-12 deep when you want to as the SEC seasons goes along.

The UNT game was closer than the score, so its understandable more didn't play than they did, but you would like to see the non-con used for developmental minutes for players when possible.

Each game a different guy stepped up,last game it was Witt, yes Witt stepped up.

These guys are playing together in a disciplined way.
They are unselfish and tenacious on defense.

I like what I see as opposed to the full court pressure script game we've seen with no variance when it's not working and no offensive game.

I hope it pans out,I like what I see so far.

Go Hogs!

I expect Henderson will start getting more and more time as the season rolls on. Musselman seems to be a very good developer of talent. It may take a little longer for a guy like Henderson, IMO. Dude is/was/is very raw.

Agreed on Chaney. We need him badly.

Defense looks as good as we could ever hope for at this point. And they'll need to keep that up until they get some help in the front court (and preferably even once they do).

Like OP said, it's transitive at this point. We won't know for sure what we are looking at until Indiana. But so far it's looking great.

What's great about it, and gives me great hope for the idea of these guys being able to maintain this, is that they were recruited to be full court press players.

So now that we aren't doing that, the game is actually less strenuous on them. Allowing them to play even harder in the half court game than they would be doing otherwise.

This team has energy for days. Did last year too. It's just being better utilized right now.

I like the fact that they seem to rebound well for their size.

These kids really want to win and Muss is teaching them how to.

Transitive property is one thing, but the margin of victory over these teams is the real statement. From start to finish complete control of the game against both opponents. Our team defense is suffocating. People will definitely know who we are come conference play.

Got damn we are killing it with transitive wins. We are halfway to 30-0 now.
