Like I said, even without Penny who is the last player we even pulled out of there?

That pipeline has been dead for 20 years.

You guys sound like drive time call in guys.

The entire point is that we are hoping someone can reopen that pipeline.

Not all of us choose to look at life as if the sky is always falling.

Just because I don't join ya'lls delusional circle jerk doesn't mean I think the sky is falling.

It's okay to have a different opinion on here and speak the truth about our program.

Man, it would take an entire page on one of these threads to write out all the things you seem to think are "delusional" but really aren't.

You wanna wager that Musselman can't pull any recruits out of Memphis? I mean, I don't know what his recruiting approach will be, but if he recruits Memphis, he will get Memphis players.

Let's see you put your posting habits where your mouth is. You already welched on a 6 month ban bet for saying the team wouldn't make the tournament two years ago. Maybe you can do it again.

I'm not trying to win any bets, I'm saying no one has successfully recruited anyone to Arkansas out of Memphis for two decades.

I'd like for Man Mussell to change that.

That's the spirit. I hope he does too. We were making hay in Memphis back in the day.

I think we need to start scheduling them again. Except, I think they sorta cut ties from Memphis deliberately. They tried to take the same approach with them that they did with the in-state schools.

Stop recruiting the area, stop playing them and eventually their entire program will fall apart. It seems to have worked too. But I think it's time to get back in there personally. I mean, you gotta if you want to reach your ceiling. There's a lot of good ball players that come out of Memphis.

That's the point.
Failure to recruit specific areas that have made us successful in the past has been our downfall for the past 2 decades.

It's no different than football and Texas.

Yes but you can be just as bad as the sunshine pumpers on the other side of the spectrum. I guess that could work if you are trying to even it out.

Memphis isn't what made the program successful at any point in time. The 94-95 team's core was Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Texas, Cali, and Memphis via JUCO.

Memphis would be a lot easier to recruit had Little Rock not fricked up the FedEx deal, people put way to much into comments about Memphis Nolan made before being outbid for Penny by Memphis State with the help of FedEx.
