He is doing much better than Mullen. #16 class so far.

With classes like these and getting players that fit his system I don’t see where we will do any worse than we did under Mullen. I think his ceiling is higher as well

By points this class already beats Mullens best recruiting class.

He looks good for 2019 and 2020 rn. We certainly have some good momentum. Let us try to continue that in Tampa.

I always felt that Mullen’s inability to pull top 20 classes is why we never could get over the hump and upset a top ranked team here and there (minus the Dak phenomenon but really those early high ranked teams ended up being average)

I don't either. I've been impressed so far. AM I crazy but it seems we finally have an emphasis on recruiting OL. I think the money and TV exposure has helped the lower SEC schools too. 11 SEC in the top 25 is pretty sick too.

Who are our last targets?

I’ll be interested to see next year. I’m really excited about this class but it was a loaded year in Mississippi which helps.

Hate he couldn’t real in Nekobe tho.

Mississippi is loaded and that definitely helped Moorehead. I sure wished we could have landed Dean and Emery.

One thing you are failing to see is that Mullen’s success has lead to JoMo being able to recruit higher level kids.
People laugh when I say this but Croom created the basis/the foundation that Mullen built upon. To Mullen’s credit, he slowly recruited better and the program got better over the 9 year period he was here.
The success of State over these last 10 years now, the plethora of NFL players that we have produced, the facilities, the stadium refurbish/expansion have made us an attractive destination for better players and the recruiting is reflecting that.
To his credit, JoMo is taking advantage of that. The other thing, you are not ever going to get all the players that you target but the staff has seemingly done a good job reeling in most of them.
Hated to lose Hud but recruiting wise we should be in good shape with Tony Hughes coming back on board. He is a tremendous Man and Coach.

The guys that Hughes has landed reads like a Mississippi State Who's Who list.

I am underwhelmed, we signed exactly 1 of the top 10 in MS thus far.

Mullen never did that poorly instate, Moorhead is benefiting from a once in a generation MS talent pool.

We will just have to see how he does in the future.

Moorehead signed 5 of the top 10. Try again.
