What the frick?

Dark Horse

“The term began as horse racing parlance for a race horse that is unknown to gamblers and thus difficult to place betting odds on.”

Neither Kentucky nor Ole Miss are difficult to place bets on. They both will be dead last in their divisions or one spot better than dead last.

And, to call my shot on dark horses (hard to predict because many unknowns and loads of potential) I am going with Aggy in the west and Florida in the east.

Loads of talent on both teams and the both hired pretty good, proven coaches.

Would Alabama and Georgia be considered "light horses" in this situation?

Is "light horse" a thing?

Missouri and only Missouri, Auburn could have a chance to win the West but wouldn't consider them a dark horse.
