Here's an early guess with a few of these already announced:

Sept 1, 3:30 ET: Tennessee vs. W. Virginia
Sept 8, 3:30 ET: Georgia @ South Carolina
Sept 15, 3:30 ET: LSU @ Auburn
Sept 22, 3:30 ET: Texas A&M @ Alabama**
Sept 29, 3:30 ET: Florida @ Mississippi St
Oct 6, 3:30 ET: Auburn @ Mississippi St
Oct 13, 3:30 ET: Georgia @ LSU
Oct 20, 3:30 ET: Tennessee @ Alabama
Oct 27, 3:30 ET: Georgia vs. Florida
Nov 3, 3:30 ET: Texas A&M @ Auburn
Nov 3, 7:00 ET: Alabama @ LSU
Nov 10, 11:00 ET: Mississippi St @ Alabama
Nov 10, 3:30 ET: Auburn @ Georgia
Nov 17, 3:30 ET: Missouri @ Tennessee
Nov 23, 2:30 ET: Arkansas @ Missouri
Nov 24, 3:30 ET: Auburn @ Alabama
Dec 1, 4:00 ET: SEC Championship Game

**I think this is the year CBS finally passes on Tennessee vs. Florida. I can't imagine them choosing that game ahead of Texas A&M vs. Alabama.

If this is how it were to play out, this is how many times each school would air on CBS this season:

5- Alabama
5- Auburn
4- Georgia
3- Tennessee
3- Mississippi St
3- LSU
2- Florida
2- Texas A&M
2- Missouri
1- S. Carolina
1- Arkansas
0- Kentucky
0- Vanderbilt

Looks like 3 LSU games to me.

One of those is official: LSU at Auburn on Sept. 15

Well West Virginia is also one of the teams so an odd number was expected.

CBS will pick their games based upon performance, plain and simple. They'll pick the first few on potential, the last seven or eight on performance.

Hell, if Kentucky and Vandy were both Top 10 when they play they'd go there. No one knows until the games start playing.

For that matter, honestly, I'd rather play ESPN night games in the summer or even later in the season if it means hosting Game Day.

I like how you list Vandy and Kentucky as 0, but don't even list ole miss.

I don't think the game being on ESPN matters.

They had 5-6 games from last year that were on competitors CBS and FOX that were gameday games.

I doubt miss st @ bama is a cbs game

I believe cbs gets pick 1 (3:30) and pick 4 (12:00) that week. I don't see that game falling to 4th in the pecking order.

No, I get that. What I am trying to convey is playing a night game with Game Day here ... that only happens on ESPN.

Yeah, last year Disney/ABC/ESPN were pressured into doing some odd Game Day locations not because so much of the PC screaming by the lesser conferences but because CBS exercised their options to take some games well in advance ... which they had not done in years.

The new pecking order and giving so-much power to CBS to take favorable games well in advance is a move that we have yet to see if it will pay off ... especially for the SEC.

Is this the year CBS has to exercise their option to keep SEC football, or is it next year? I keep hearing Fox wants to make a move for SEC Football but everything is in limbo right now because of the buyout/merger of Fox holdings minus the News division.

Regardless, the SEC will take the biggest money deal and CBS knows it so the SEC is trying to sweeten the deal for them by giving them two games four weekends (if they want it) and giving them a larger window from which to claim their games.

ESPN is not particularly happy about it because they not only has to have inventory for ESPN, The Deuce and The U, but also for the SEC Network.

It'll also mean fewer, if any, alternate channel broadcasts but that's not a bad thing.

I cant remeber the contract details, but Im pretty sure ESPN gets to pick 1st one or two times. Then there are a few other clauses that change what would be the obvious CBS game that week.

CBS doesn't get 2nd pick for November 10th or 3rd as far as the 1st game goes. ESPN gets second pick. And CBS is somewhere between 3rd-5th. I don't see CBS getting both Alabama-State and Auburn-Georgia since a similar situation occurred last year where ESPN got Alabama-State, CBS got Auburn-Georgia and Florida-SC

So does this mean for the Nov. 3 games, there is no SEC ESPN night game?

Really don't want our game in Oxford to be at noon..

CBS and the SEC are in the throws of reworking their deal ... it's going to cost CBS at least $200 million a year if they want to include the SECCG. Right now they're paying some crazy low amount like $65 million a year if I remember correctly.

The SEC offered them $120 million a year less the SECCG which ABC/ESPN, at the time, was offering $80 million alone for ... just that one game.

CBS had better picking rights that fell within the old acceptable parameters of our current ESPN deal last season, but CBS still didn't seem happy getting to pick the two extra games first simply because they picked wrong.

We're still they're cash cow but a lot of people believe CBS is playing hardball ... but they're gonna lose. Fox will get the deal unless ABC or NBC step in with $200+ million per season for an extended period, likely 10 years since neither party wants 15 year deals anymore.

ESPN is going to contest it one way or the other to jockey for better position in the picking rights.

Two things.

We're not going to get $200 million a year from any network right now with so much cord cutting happening ... but we xould still get $125-$150 million and sell the SECCG to another network for a lot more money.

There is always the possibility that another network could come in and buyout CBS's remaining contract, give CBS a big profit on the buyout and still have tons of room to make big money themselves (other networks).

After giving CBS those extra picks last year it's seriously doubtful Sanky will do it again this year ... although we'll probably find out more about that this week once these meetings are concluded.

I thought Slive made a bad deal with CBS allowing them to keep the 22-23 contract in place just by getting them to open their window on picking first each week for their Game of the Week games. But I get why he did it - it was to make the ESPN deal come together.

Slive would never have given CBS another thing though .... and Sanky shouldn't have either. It's not gonna get them to work a new contract in our favor.

I hope Fox steps up to the plate.
