I enjoyed the Villanova game today.

Not trolling, but how big of a b-ball fam are you if you haven’t seen Nova play this year? They’ve been one of the elite teams all year.

Also, I can’t say I enjoyed that beat down. I appreciate the level of play with which Nova preformed. I can even say that I respect what they did. But enjoy it? Hell no. We just got beat soundly in the tourney with the entire world and recruits watching. Nothing about that was enjoyable.

You can not enjoy the outcome while still being impressed with the way the opponent played. It was good basketball from both teams in the 1st half, and elite basketball from one team in the 2nd half.

Obviously I had hoped we could hang with them and we did for almost 20 minutes. But when the ginger hit the 3 right before the half, then they picked up right where they left off after halftime and we were ice cold, the rout was on. And honestly, who didn’t see it coming? Villanova is basketball royalty and it showed. They have more pure basketball talent and one of the best coaches in the business. We needed a small miracle and didn’t get it. I don’t think anyone in the tournament could have withstood that barrage today.
It is what it is, we’ve got to go back to the drawing board and improve. Ok guys, we have our measuring stick now. We’ve played a team similar to that 3 times this year: Kentucky twice and now Nova. And we got curb stomped all 3 times. So let’s get to work with that as our goal. Congratulations on what you accomplished in 2017-18, now on to 2018-19 with loftier goals.

I have to be at work at 2 am every morning so my bedtime is early afternoon. I have to dvr the Bama games and watch them later and do not have the time to watch as many games with three children to raise and working 55 hours per week. On top of that I just bought a house so on the weekends when I am not catering to my kids I am working on the home. I appreciate you calling me out like that though.

Short story: I go to bed between five and six pm and watch the weekday games on dvr because they start late.

Look at Nova and Kentucky. That is what an elite basketball team looks like.
