The highlights on the new salary pool for the 10 assistants, which is $6.42 million, up from $4.56 million:
Defensive coordinator Mel Tucker has received a raise to $1.5 million, up from $900,000 last year. Georgia’s defense was one of the best in the country this past season.
Assistant coach James Coley, expected to move from receivers coach to another position, has been bumped to $850,000 from $450,000 last year. Coley turned down a job offer from Texas A&M to become offensive coordinator.
Offensive line coach Sam Pittman will now earn $825,000, after earning $660,000 last year.
Offensive coordinator Jim Chaney received a $100,000 raise, and will now earn $950,000.
Strength and conditioning coordinator Scott Sinclair also received a significant bump, and will now earn $450,000. Sinclair earned $300,000 last year.

Eventually UGA is going to have to pay a ransom for Schumann. He’s a damn good coach and even better recruiter. I like that UGA finally opened the checkbook, we’re heading in the right direction for sure.

Agreed. He gets his bump after Tucker leaves in all likelihood as he'll potentially move up to DC or Co-DC or something to that effect...

Coley had nude photos of McGarity's wife. What a huge raise. I like Coley and think he's a really good coach and recruiter, but at least 150 of that should have went to McGee, who has more than earned a huge raise with his recruiting.

Dell should be making more.

The sad thing is, these coaches are going to get big offers from other schools. Espicially mel tucker, he has done a fine job for us.

Mel is getting side money off the books.

Coley’s wife fell in love with Athens and she wasn’t leaving for a little scrilla. She’d rather have less money but still be well off and live in Athens than slightly richer and live in a shithole.
