Freeze’s classes at Ole Miss were their best in school history.

There was a reason for that and the NCAA found out why.

Saban and Freeze would be a disaster. Not for them; for us

You haven't been paying attention. saban wants a ball control/smash mouth running game that doesn't stress his D by living on the field. He has opened up his O some....but he still wants to be ball control/clock control. Freeze throws far more than he runs and TOP means nothing to him.

Saban's hiring of Lane Kiffin was a departure, at least by by his standards, from his usual ball-control, clock-management offensive style. I distinctly remember one Saban presser in the Kiffin era when he went off on a reporter for suggesting that he ran a ball-control offense -- and quite frankly, at that time, he was mostly right. Nick has shown he's willing to adapt and evolve, and I think he swallowed a healthy dose of that when he called on Lane. Alabama's offenses of late, particularly with Hurts, have reminded me more of Gus Malzahn than Jim McElwain. Furthermore, I just don't think the deepest defensive bench in college football worries a hell of a lot about spending a little extra time on the field, provided their offense is scoring points. And Freeze would do just that.

It might just take hell freezing over to make Gus do something else than forever running the ball.

too soon but in 3 years or so I'd be fine with it. I think he'd come to Auburn in heartbeat with the relationship he has with Gus.
