Why Gus would take the job now when the same AD passed him over 5 years ago. If I were Gus I’d play Long for a raise at Auburn then turn him down.

Nobody wants jonesboro tech's coach. Can't beat a P5 program, loses to inferior southern alabama, gets whipped by conway college..... no thanks

If he beats Alabama he won't come here and the second he loses next no one will want him.

Gus is no different than any other coach. If he wants to come then sure, but this board is getting ridiculous with these threads.

And honestly I think we could get Gus or any other big name here. It's a unique program in a state that will support the shite out of a good coach. We've had big names and Arkansas is a legit University a coach would be proud to come to. And this is coming from me, an outsider.

Trust me ppl in the South might think these traditional big schools are hot places, but they're really not. Look at Tennessee I know we're homers, but I'd much rather coach at Arkansas.

Coaches have massive egos, Gus included. There is no way he’s coming here after Long passed him over last time. Helll did he even get an interview?

Gus was far from “proven” when he went to Auburn from stAte.

I would be happy if we could get Venables.

I have my doubts that they hire him, though, because it isn't a super-splash hire, but that guy is a damn good defensive coach.

The fact that people are clamoring over the Gus Bus now just shows how much BB has destroyed our outlook on the program.

He was granted an interview in 2007 and interviewed poorly.

Last time around he was "above interviewing" and tried to work the same back channels he is now for the job...

This was pretty obvious after he left the board meeting the other day upset. Writing was on the wall

You hearing the Tubbs talk too?

Could be BS but my friend said Long was gone yesterday and I thought it was BS.

Apparently he tried to cut a line in the sand on Bert and the GOBN blew up.

Amateur move on his part.

Haven't heard much Tubbs talk, but he said some interesting things at his NWA touchdown club appearance. I think he is interested in athletic administration more than coaching.
