I'm actually surprised there is no Shark Tank event given that we're not going bowling this season and this is our only real opportunity. So I figured, why not have a meet up party? Maybe have one at 10:00 on Friday and maybe a nearby bar of Berkeley on Saturday?

I don't know anything about the area or where everyone is staying, so if anyone would want to get the Spirit involved on getting on together, it could make for a good time.

People are actually traveling across the country to watch this team?

Which is why I asked someone else to do it.

I had no idea if people still post there or not.

We didn't have a bowl game last year, and we won't have one this year. I've got a free room and airline tickets so it makes it an easy choice for me. Going to spend all weekend there and fly back on Monday.

Honestly I wouldn't mind going and did actually think about it. But I planned my daughter's 5th birthday party for that day. Yes, she has me wrapped and is a daddys girl since it's only me and her here.
But looking at the matchup, I don't see them stopping our offense. Hopefully, fingers crossed, we can get the run game going so we can catch more teams off guard with the passing. Because who are we kidding, everyone knows we're gonna throw it around a good bit. And even a simple run game would help. And I believe we have 1 or 2 that can rotate in and out and give us that run support. Our defense has got to gel.I know we've only played one game, but we need them to come together sooner rather than later. We have talent on the field, we just don't have the depth on defense with the offense we run. I see this game as like maybe 31-24 us. Hope I'm right or hope we even beat them worse. But at the end of the day, I'll still be supporting the team W/L.
Sorry so long, can get carried away talking football.

And oh yea, depending on how Arky plays this weekend, I think they can give quite a few teams some fits.

I think lost on you is the fact that our biggest games every year are Bama, LSU, and State and probably in that order; and last time I checked we are still playing those. The possibility of getting Air Force in the Liberty Bowl isn't what draws people or players into the season. Or at least it shouldn't be. And I know, I know, "we've got nothing to play for." Whatever.

^^^ Win or lose, those will still be our biggest games from the average fan's perspective. They will be the ones they get most excited about. Now, the most important ones this year will be California and Vandy games. Those are must wins, but most probably don't see it that way. They are true linchpin games for this season.

Honestly if we had to lose 10 remaining games this season and I had to pick which one we'd beat, it would be without question Berkeley. We have time and opportunity to it up with the other schools, but I'm not going to tolerate losing to that dumpster fire of a school.

^^^Well, I don't know about losing all those, but I damn sure don't want to lose to that bunch. You are very right. It really comes down to a clash of cultures.

Yea I think it's good that I decided to stay in Mississippi for this one. I just couldn't see myself meshing at all with them. Plus I would have gladly taken my old Ole Miss rebel flag and probably found some loud speaker to play slow Dixie. I know all of that's in the past and should let it go, but people don't know their history. They just believe what they want to. And I would only do it out of southern hospitality. Even though it has nothing to do with them, I wouldn't on purpose wave it in a crowd of blacks or crazy whites. It's just our heritage. No where it should be racial but I know these days you can't do anything without being labeled that.

Anyways, we might should set an O/U on how many fight videos turn up from those idiots out there, or number of protesters. I mean they've got to have something that day to protest, so I'm sure it will be our school.

Generally, I think trying to erase history is part of a fascist playbook. However, there are millions of Buddhist that say the same thing about the Swastika. You can only thank the KKK and white supremacists for turning what some view as heritage into a symbol of hate.

On a football note I am looking forward to getting Bing-Dukes back into the LB rotation. He was voted the most improved defensive player in the Spring and it allows Evans to provide valuable depth in setting the front 7 with the 2nd team (thus why I think Polk got so many snaps with the 2nd string the other night).

Study more history, learn what fascist actually means. The word you're looking for is marxist/bolshevik.

Doesn't matter if the KKK used the flag, leftists would have turned it into a hate symbol anyways.

We definitely need some good LB play.

I hope we beat the piss out of Berkeley, but frankly, they didn't look too bad their first game, so I wouldn't be surprised if we lost.

How good is North Carolina supposed to be? I really wasn't expecting Cal to beat them especially on the road. But then again, I've never thought Larry Fedora was any good so maybe his coaching effect is starting to take its toll on the Tarheels.

I think North Carolina was hoping Brandon Harris was going to come there and look different. But he again crumbled. That may or may not have taken some wind out of them because honestly I don't know enough about them.

Yea I haven't looked at the stats much is why I didn't know much about them. Just happen to read somewhere about Brandon Harris and how his day went. It was something along the lines of how he wasn't much of a factor again.
