i think there are true rivals- who you’ll always root against and always love to beat, and then yhere are rivals “du jour”.
those programs who are now rolling and tough to beat, so you experienced heightened excitement because the stakes are high.
A&M is starting to elevate in rival status as it gets better, but the only true rivals in SEC are Arky and LSU, due to our history and border status and true dislike.
Bama/A&M is an interestimg dynamic due to their shared football history involving the Bear and Stallings, and A&M’ s two stunning victories in its first SEC decade. We’re probably not rivals, but I do think A&M is a program Bama looks forward to playing each year.
