I would still prefer Bo but Calzada >>> Finley

They might be the same player. Both have big league arms, but are streaky and have trouble seeing the field.

Have you watched a single Auburn game in which Finley has played?

Honestly, no. I watched him at LSU, though. I remember Finley throwing the ball hard.

From 247's recruiting profile:

Pro-style pocket passer with an arm that matches the size.

In his 5 games played at LSU, he had more completions and a better completion % than he did in 9 games at Auburn. He's made some absolutely terrible decisions/throws and has the mobility of a tortoise.

He did show some real grit vs Alabama, which should be commended.

I thought Calzada was already going to Pitt?

He’ll do fine in home games, but road games are almost an automatic L and expect at least 1-2 picks a game. Oh, and while he may keep a drive alive with his feet about 5% of the time, expect the other 95% of key third downs to consist of him either missing his target or tripping over his own feet in the background.

Doesn't having 'beat bama' on his resume mean he gets instantly offered by Auburn?

Auburn for your sake....please don't do it! Seriously. Calzada, or Calshidda as I like to say, is a complete and absolute weak minded head case.

He will NEVER be a solid SEC QB. For him to be consistently average is going to be a big ask.

He has pretty insane arm strength. But that is it. He has no "it factor" and is not a natural winner at the position.

Nothing personal against him. But he is very limited in his ceiling. Be lucky if he were middle of the pack for SEC QB play in the future. He will be a major project for a qb guru and absolutely needs a quality OL to have a chance to succeed.

He’s a good kid, undeniably tough with grit, but just too inconsistent. Hope he does well.

My god man could you manage to stop shitting on the kid who came in as backup and saved A&M’s season from becoming an abysmal failure after King went down? He never did anything for Aggies except work hard and show serious toughness. Maybe find a way to critique his ceiling without completely pissing on the effort he put into this last season and the victories he did achieve.

Considering where Auburn is located in relation to his hometown, it's probably the best option.

Calzada needs a simplified offense. He is late on his reads, and he has happy feet. However, he has the arm to work through a lot of those issues. Good for him if he can get closer to home

Just because Calzada beat Bama....so many Aggie fans love him. Problem is, they are in denial that he cost us at least 2 losses, if not, 3 losses this season.

Hope the best for him as a person. But I'm pretty damn confident he isn't going to be a good starter for any team in the SEC.

I do agree....he needs an overly simplified offense. The less cerebral the decisions...the greater his chance to be successful.

Kid has a LONG ways to go to keep his dreams of the NFL alive...that's for sure. Hope I'm wrong as he did have some heart. But I don't give credit to heart when I desire WINS DAMN IT! 2021 was a bit of a nightmare season for us Ags. What went wrong, did. Still got 8 wins though.

No they aren’t. There’s just no point in trashing him. He’s gone, move on

The other option would be Finley, so Calzada would be still an upgrade. Besides, we have a 4star UA All-American / Elite11 QB coming in (early enrollee) who could be the next starter but we need to create some competition.
