3rd is Neyland. Bear Bryant even claimed everything he knew he learned from Neyland.

Bowden? Competed in a basketball conference and didn't even dominate his state.

Wow man, you feel pretty strongly about this. However, if I had my choice, I’d pick Saban over Bear.

Saban and Bryant are clearly 1-2...but if you did a top 10 all-time, 4 could realistically be from Alabama, including Wallace Wade and Frank Thomas.

6. Bobby Bowden
7. Steve Spurrier
8. Urban Meyer
9. Joe Paterno
10. Woody Hayes
Honorable mentions:
Bo Schembechler
Pete Carroll
Jackie Sherrill
Ara Parseghian
Curious where you think guys like Fred Akers and Frank Broyles would fit...

Bear is the best.
With a playoff back in the 60’s & 70’s he probably wins 10 NC plus Kentucky in 1950 should be a NC as well.
So that makes Saban #2.
Next question.

Number one is John Wooden.
10 national championships in 12 years, including 7 in a row at one point.

Third in football would be Bud Wilkinson

Bill Snyder in my opinion should be Top 10 and it shouldn't matter if he ever won a Nat'l Title. What he did at Kansas State is simply amazing.

Saban is easily better than Bear.
More national championships... won at two different schools.
And, he won them all, against the best competition. Half of Bryant's titles came in the segregation era.

Bear. He was always number one until, well, Saban happened.

Dabo Swinney end up in the top 3, with a decent chance at #1

But Bear did it for $17,700 a year, more bang for the buck.

1. Nick Saban
2. Bear Bryant
3. Pop Warner

Not a chance.
Not if the meat of your success is in a basketball conference.

Bud Wilkinson still owns the longest winning streak in big boy football.
47 straight wins (1953-1957).
3 NC
14 Conference Championships
all in 17 seasons
1947-1963
That is good enough for third Best in CFB.
