The latest one that is annoying me-
"Manufacture Points"
"If ECU wants to have a shot at this game, they need to find a way to manufacture some points coming out into the second half"
After a game is over, does anyone ever say "Wow, ECU really turned it on and manufactured 28 points for the win in that second half"
Any other good ones out there?

If you get rid of all the cliches, Gus Johnson won’t be employable anywhere. Even his yelling on ordinary plays won’t be enough

When they say "this" instead of "the"
"The Georgia offense has the Razorbacks on their heels right now" or even simpler "Georgia's offense".
vs
"This Georgia offense has the Razorbacks on their heels right now"
Are there multiple Georgia offenses? They need to specify they are talking about this specific Georgia offense, so nobody watching at home is confused? Some fool at home might think they're watching the 2008 Matt Stafford offense, I guess?

"Stretch the field"
Rod Gilmore (among others) says that at least 20 times a game. Annoying af.

I would be happy if the ESPN announcers actually watched the game enough to use a brain dead cliché. There was a 3 and out series in the A&M game in which not one player or play was mentioned before the punt team came out, as they had a conversation about some other non-game related bullshite.
And this happens at least once per game.

When they assume that any white kid is a former walk-on. I've heard it at least twice this season referring to McConkey.

More than the cliche's, I hate when the announcers offer up heavy doses of something more glaringly obvious than a circus clown in a men's room. At halftime when one team is down by 3 scores and is currently being shut out, the one thing you will always hear is, "Well Gary, if this team wants to win this thing, they're going to have to find some way to move the football." Really? I mean, fricking really?! What else are they going to try to do? Jump in an SUV and literally drive the ball down the field? Ask Superman to fly around the planet at ludicrous speeds and make time reverse itself? I can't believe these guys get paid to do this.

Oh man, I can't stand that in basketball, especially.
STFU about some idiotic anecdote and call the damn game!
(For this reason, I much prefer listening to basketball on the radio, because they pretty much have to do a rapid-fire explanation of what they're seeing.)

I hate it when they compare football to another sport. Saying the football player "hit a home run" or "knocked it out of the park". In the Bama game Saturday Gary Danielson was saying that Bryce Young "is a short stop". No he's not. He's a quarterback.

Actually Gary said Bryce "is a point guard playing quarterback" No he's not Gary. He's a quarterback playing quarterback. Geesh these announcers suck!

It’s because of this they started hiring women referees

“Mobile quarterbacks are a problem for Alabama” hint: Mobile quarterbacks give everyone problems.
