LSU Booster 1: oh frick man, this is bad. We're tanking, the SEC Rant thinks we're a poor, bottom tier program with no prospects. We have to control this damage. What do we do?

I know this sounds like a terrible idea, but I think we'll pick up one of the most job secure coaches in the nation, who is also one of the most winningest coaches in CFB, and who also has his team in the hunt for a CFP birth at the end of the season.
Booster 3: shite, I guess. Sounds really dumb and lame, but since that's all we can think of.

It's a panic hire.
$15 million for Brian Kelly? A guy who has been on the brink of being fired multiple times at Notre Dame? The HC of the same Notre Dame that LSU fans on this site have relentlessly bashed as an overrated program w/a mediocre coach living off it's name and a weak arse schedule?
