It's not a good thing. Absolute mediocrity this year.

Will they though? There’s 84 bowl eligible teams for 82 spots. South Carolina or LSU would have to take a non-SEC bowl tie in to make it. Just not sure how that plays out.

One year we ended up in the Armed Forces Bowl cause all the tie ins were used up. St Petersburg Bowl as well

There are 83 eligible for 82 spots. Yes, all will go to a bowl. It will be a 6-6 G5 team left out.

We went to the Armed Forces Bowl last year, and it was a tie in for last year only. The year we went to the St. Petersburg(Gasparilla) is because we were 5-7, and there were not enough bowl eligible teams. This year 3 SEC teams will be in the CFP/NY6(Ga,Bama,OM). The Citrus picks next. Then the conference and next tier bowls, Outback, Gator, Mayo, MCB, Liberty, and Texas, divide up who goes where. After that the Birmingham gets next pick, then the Gasparilla if enough are eligible which there are this year. That equals 12 teams. One team will be placed elsewhere. Independence? First Responder?

I think SC could end up in the Mayo, Liberty, Gasparilla, or sorry, Birmingham.
This is just my two cents but after studying the bowls and other projections I see the Cocks chances as:
Birmingham-50%
Gasparilla-35%
Mayo-10%(only because of proximity)
Liberty-5%
