It's difficult to be afraid of a team that hasn't won a title since Jimmy Carter was in office.

Will be interesting to see how Ohio State does with a Power 5 Cincy program to compete with in state. Lots of the best recruits in Ohio come out of the Cincinnati area. Not sure Ohio State will be able to take their pick like they're used to going forward.

Notre Dame traditionally depends heavily on Cincinnati area recruiting too. Will be interested to see how a Big 12 Cincy program impacts them as well.

Ohio State will always get who they want over Cincinnati.
The real threat to Ohio State is Fickell going to Notre Dame.
He can't convince 5 stars to choose cincy over osu,but probably could at ND.
Fickell has lifelong ties to recruiting Ohio, and now especially Cincinnati.

I'm not so sure about that. UC is the one school in Ohio that could prove to be problematic for OSU. Cincy isn't really a quintessentially Ohio anyway. It's always been it's own thing due to the southern influence and historical interconnectedness with southen river port cities.
They have a fanbase already for their basketball program, those fans generally want to be UC football fans over Ohio State fans. And UC being in the Big 12 will elevate the program, and increase the revenue to keep UC playing at a higher level than they ever have. It's entirely possible to me that UC carves out a chuck of southern Ohio for themselves and snakes some big time recruits from OSU every year going forward.
BTW, I grew up in Cincy and have a lot of family and friend ties to both UC and OSU. Not talking out of my arse here.
