Jim McElwain. I'll be the first person to tell you that I had no idea who this guy was when we hired him. I even said "wtf" when we hired him.

I never had a problem with Applewhite, but you could tell he was a QB. I feel like McElwain realizes what JPW can and can't do. Applewhite had JPW throwing the ball 30-35 times per game, he's simply not good enough to do this. JPW is a decent QB, but he cannot be the #1 weapon on our offense.

Thank you Jim McElwain.

In my opinion, it's discipline.

Saban has your guys whipped into shape, it seems.

He seems to be a very good hire. And he had a great gameplan tonight.

I'd say a deeper running back corp, and improved line play has been the biggest improvement. Keep in mind, Terry Grant was our starter last year (currently 4th team) and Jimmy Johns was a backup RB.

1. Discipline on the team. Everyone is buying into his system.
2. Defensive line push, we had no pass rush last year.
3. Better OC. Recognizes the talent he has and is able to utilize them.
4. One of the least penalized teams so far.(refs gettin their checks regular now)

Wasn't Bama undefeated at this point last season, too?

Not that you aren't better this year -- I think you are. But it's a little early to give any definites.

With this set of RB, would Applewhite give them the number of touches that they've gotten this year? I say no.

You've watched both teams play, do they look anything alike?

Tough call. I'm sure we would have thrown the ball more under Major, unless he recognized the same improvement in the quality and depth at the RB position, and the improved OL. I hate to speculate.

You got a point. UGA was clearly outmanned, but they didn't help their cause by aiding Bama's first two scores with penalty after penalty

JPW is totally a different QB. He doesn't have to go out there and try to win games on his own for once. I'm diggin Alabama's run by committee. Coffee, Ingram, Grant, Upchurch.. pretty good group..
