TK Harty was the guy who got killed. 1977...long before my time but heard a lot about it. He was killed in a murder-for-hire instigated by a guy named Mooney who owned a rival restaurant/bar called Somebody's Pizza.
TK and Mooney were apparently in a beer price war.
As a fun fact, Mooney got paroled very recently after 30+ years in prison. And now living in Blackshear!

TKs / Mooneys war started started nickel night that moved over to Lowerys tavern with a former TK employee.

TK had already killed a guy from what I heard. There was some sort of redneck mafia thing going on then. Assume it was drugs or money laundering or both. That all changed when El Azteca got in the game.
