Saban still won't be able to say he ever beat a good Auburn team.

Well, I expect Auburn to still be ranked and sitting at 8-3 going into the Iron Bowl.

I then expect to be 9-3 after the Iron Bowl which would trump your perceived silver lining.

You’re missing the point Rocky.

2 scenarios:

1. We beat Alabama. Therefore easily stay ranked and we are 9-3 potentially going for win #10 in the bowl. Hence good Auburn team that Saban lost to again.

2. We lose to Alabama. Therefore borderline ranked. 8-4. We’re a very average team. Not good enough for Saban to say he beat a good Auburn team.

Win-win scenario

I didn't miss it, I refused to accept that there is a second scenario available is all.

However, I did give it a slight mention by saying the win over Bama would Trump his silver lining.

C'mon man.

I said to my AU alum friend that if we could split aTm and Alabama that would be really good. I think we'll get the wins the next two weeks to set up the Iron Bowl showdown. I'll also say that aTm is playing the second best ball in the SEC right now, right behind UGA and their made-up soap opera QB "Stetson Bennet". These are the Days of Our Lives.

Sure and everyone agrees with that, but like another poster pointed out if we beat Alabama then the whole premise of the thread of void. Let's hope that happens, WDE

Outside of 2013, Gus loss at least 4 games each year and never beat LSU, Bama or UGA on the road.

Sounds great, but we better get our offense going again against MSU and USC, to make that happen.

With it at 6 quarters we have not scored a TD, it bothers me other teams are figuring out of offensive strengths.

Both these teams have gotten better, so we have to pick it up.

Not trying to be a Debbie-downer(sorry Debbie), but I just want to see better offensive drives with the running game and better play from our QB and WRs.
