Why aren't LSU fans upset about

Coach O not kicking the field goal on 4th and goal? Take the points and you are kicking a game tying field goal to send it to OT as time expires. I've only seen one LSU fan even mention it. He let the whole effort boil down to one 4th down call.

Meh. I don’t blame coach O for the decision. He’s a lame duck coach laying it all on red in that situation. He’s not playing for OT. He playing to frick the Tide.

half the game thread was talking about it last night. Cade York could no doubt have kicked from where we were at the end but hindsight is 20/20. If Max had an ounce on his youthful mobility from the 2020 UF game it'd be a frickin miracle.

Only matters if it works out...he had a chance to just play smart and give your guys a great chance to win on a night that bama clearly couldn't get it together.

Many are. At the time in the game, on the road, outmatched, I would have gone for it also.

You have the favored team on the ropes at their house, with nothing to lose, and you think kicking a fg is the way to go?

To put yourself in a position to win? Absolutely yes. I know you guys are happy your backups hung with bama but you still have to take those points in that situation with 6 minutes and your D playing pretty well.

It was the right call.
You don't know if you ate going to be back in FG range again.

Was fine going for it. They had a player open.

Meh - hindsight. Not upset with the decision to go for it on 4th. Circumstances of the game would've changed the last 5 minutes if we had kicked the FG on 4th.
1.) The 4th down call was good, the WR slanting in was open, but Max's 2 second indecisiveness closed the window.
2.) Bama doesn't go ultra conservative on their last drive if we kick the FG.
3.) Bama plays a different defense on the last drive to stop LSU from getting into FG range - if we had kicked the 3. The underneath stuff to get us into FG range would've been likely harder.
4.) Not sure our Defense could sustain through OT

LSU hadn't moved the ball well all night. What were the chances they would get down there again?
The play was there. The throw was off. If it works he made the right decision.
But, yeah, the FG was the more logical decision just based on odds.

I’m a big proponent of taking the points when and where you can. I was yelling to kick the field goal but O didn’t listen.
On the other hand, I like the balls to the wall attitude.
LSU was playing with house money and O bet it all

It was the right thing to do with context..
with Johnson at QB I think it's best to roll the dice while you have the chance..
Driving the field again or getting into overtime with Johnson...

Bitch, nobody’s happy with a loss so go frick yourself. I would rather go for the win in that game situation and with nothing to play for the rest of the season but the win in front of you

Should have put our punter in at Qb he was passing better all night.
But in all seriousness, that was the funniest moment of the LSU season.

Yeah I understand going for it but, man, that was a longggg way to go to the goal line. Very low probability conversion.

Hindsight is always 20/20. If he kicks it and they lose by a field goal or more, he get roasted for not going for the touchdown on 4th. If he got the touchdown on the 4th, he's a hero. It's a lose-lose if things don't go your way in these situations.
If I were in his shoes, I would have done the same damn thing.

I understand where everyone is coming from but your QB is the reason I would've kicked it.
Then play for OT.
Bama cant stop the blitz.
You get the ball back with a couple minutes to make bama regret missing 2 kicks.
If bamas offense is playing well I would agree with the call but we couldn't run the ball and either way you were going to have to give them the ball back and get a stop.
Maybe other things do happen but my question is How did the call work out for you? I would've taken the points in a close game on the road.

Does it make you all feel better to keep saying this lol? Show some humility and just congratulate the other team . You bamatards are ate up with your superiority complex

I think O knew we weren't going to get any closer than there. And we did not. So, not a bad call in hindsight actually. Enjoy your win.
