Exactly. It’s frustrating because they fluff the ranking # of the commits at certain schools, which in turn decreases ours. Causing us to end up at the ‘accepted’ position. It's a joke.
Can you really argue when most of our recruits end up looking like their revised ranking? The proof is in the pudding. Recruiting has been trash for most of 10 years. On paper, the last two years look like a slight movement back to where we need to be. We’ll see.

COURTNEY CRUTCHFIELD, WR -- No. 64 OVERALL | ARKANSAS COMMIT
"Tabbed as the highest-ranked newcomer in the freshly-minted Top247, it’s hard not to fall quickly in love with Courtney Crutchfield’s athletic profile. both on and off the football field. A multi-sport athlete with three-phase ability on the gridiron, the Arkansas native’s combination of size and athleticism is readily apparent regardless of what sport he’s playing or what side of the ball he’s on. Listed at 6-foot-2 and 175-pounds, Crutchfield’s intrigue is often highlighted by his two-way playmaking ability, in addition to flashing outstanding ball skills and excellent run-after-catch ability on the offensive side of the ball.

"Only scratching the surface of what appears to be an increasingly high ceiling, Crutchfield’s background in track and field and basketball are plainly obvious when it comes to sifting through the Arkansas standout’s tape. A 6-foot-plus high jumper, Crutchfield's ability to play above the rim and make what should often be considered difficult look rather routine are calling cards to his game. Although he lacks verified metrics in speed, Crutchfield leaves little doubt or concern when projecting to the next level as he’s shown a consistency to make plays in the vertical passing game and has proven to be one of the best run-after-catch threats in the country." -- Cooper Petagna, 247Sports national scouting analyst

I find this post humorous considering the few that preceded it in the thread. Great timing.

Can we get odds that he drops the rest of the recruiting cycle like Burks did?

Rivals updated its Top 250 players for the 2024 class Tuesday, and three Arkansas commitments saw their rankings change.

Two other players Arkansas is targeting in the class of 2024 were also included in the latest update as well.

The update was not kind to the Razorbacks’ overall standings in the commitment rankings, as Arkansas dropped from No. 12 nationally to No. 18 without losing a single recruit.

Rivals will be updating the offensive and defensive position rankings as well as the state rankings throughout the week, so stay tuned to HawgBeat for the latest rankings.

Here’s how the Top 250 rankings update affected the Hogs.

The guy that had TAMU in the lead got fired recently.

Miami, TAMU, Oregon, Auburn, ND, USC seem to be the most common teams associated with him. Maybe Bama now but I expect they have higher targets.

Dion Stutts, a Class of 2024 Arkansas commitment from Memphis (Tenn.) Memphis University School, passed away Tuesday evening, per multiple reports.

The Memphis Commercial Appeal confirmed the tragic news through MUS athletics director and head football coach Bobby Alston, who said he believes Stutts was killed in an ATV accident near the Batesville (Miss.) area. Stutts, who just finished his junior year, was 18 years old.

“Our hearts are broken for the family," Alston told The Commercial Appeal. "Dion was such a great young man. He had a smile that warmed your heart when you had a chance to be around him," Alston said. "We’re going to miss that smile, miss that wonderful personality and we’re just praying for his family right now."

Arkansas defensive line coach Deke Adams, who served as Stutt's lead recruiter, tweeted late Tuesday evening, "My heart is aching right now! What a wonderful [human] with an amazing spirit! I'm at a loss for words! We love you Dion and you will always be a Razorback! Praying for his family!"

Stutts, a two-sport star who also excelled in wrestling, verbally committed to Arkansas on March 11 when he turned down offers from Louisville, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Tulane, Austin Peay, and Liberty. The three-star defensive lineman was scheduled to be back in Fayetteville on June 23-25 for his official visit.

Stutts made his college decision while enjoying an unofficial visit with Sam Pittman's staff in mid-March.

"After the visit from these past two days, I decided why should I wait any longer? I knew where I wanted to go and that was Arkansas, so I committed," Stutts said.

"As for any upcoming visits…I’ve canceled them all because I’m now fully committed to Arkansas. WOO PIG!"

HawgSports extends its thoughts and prayers to Dion's family and loved ones during this time.

Just days after his official visit, Texarkana (Texas) Pleasant Grove 2024 cornerback Ahkhari Johnson has committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks, he announced via Twitter. Johnson, 5-11, 175, is a three-star recruit ranked as the No. 743 prospect in the nation (No. 120 in Texas) and the No. 77 athlete in the country. He also took an official visit to Oklahoma State in April and was slated to visit TCU tomorrow.

The Hogs currently have defensive end Landon Jackson on the roster out of Pleasant Grove and are also after Landon's younger brother, edge rusher Lance Jackson in the 2025 cycle. Johnson is newest commitment in the Class of 2024 for the Razorbacks, which currently ranks No. 18 nationally.

"It was really good," Johnson said following the visit last weekend. "They made me feel like I am a priority here. They made me think they really want me here. It was a good visit, overall. I like all the coaching staff, they're really good. They showed me a lot of attention. I just had fun."

He also said the Hogs are "at the top, for sure" coming out of last weekend's visit, which ultimately led to his decision. He has been recruited to Fayetteville by defensive backs coaches Deron Wilson and Marcus Woodson.

"They are both really cool dudes," Johnson said. "I talk to them a lot. We've got to build a relationship and it's all good."

Johnson also likes knowing that Jackson is already on The Hill and there's a very strong chance that Lance follows in 2025.

"I went to high school with (Landon)," he said. "Played with him my freshman year. Just having somebody here that I already know is just another level of comfort."

Danny West's Take: Arkansas has gotten off to a strong start at the cornerback position as four commitments are in from Jaden Allen, Noreel White and Tevis Metcalf and now Ahkhari Johnson. However, we're calling Metcalf a future nickel as that's the Hogs' plan for him, and although White told me last week that he's still "100% Hog" heading into his official visit in Fayetteville later this month, it's hard to forget his "my recruitment is still 100% open" tweet from a few weeks ago.

The Razorbacks are also still very much alive for Chris Johnson Jr., Selman Bridges and Braylon Conley, so there's a lot of moving parts currently. Landing Johnson was far from a slam dunk when the competition includes TCU, which just played for a national championship, and Stanford, which had to be attractive to Johnson and his 3.9 GPA.

Fresh off the heels of an official visit over the weekend, three-star athlete Ahkhari Johnson announced his commitment to the Razorbacks on Wednesday.

The Texarkana, Texas, native made his pledge public on his Twitter account.

Johnson chose Arkansas over offers from Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Missouri and others.

He plays on both sides of the ball for Pleasant Grove High School, playing defensive back and quarterback. He is being recruited by co-defensive coordinator Marcus Woodson to play defensive back.

The 6-foot, 185-pound athlete played football with current Arkansas defensive lineman Landon Jackson, as well as four-star athlete Lance Jackson, who Arkansas is targeting in the class of 2025.

Johnson's commitment gives the Hogs 11 total in the class of 2024, though one of the 11 was three-star defensive tackle Dion Stutts, who tragically died Tuesday. Arkansas’ class ranks No. 18 in the nation after Rivals' latest Rivals250 update.
