Really surprised we didn't see JT yesterday. Especially in the 4th.

Just figured Kirby would put him in to get some reps. The game was over by then.
The fact that he didn't tells me that JT still isn't 100%. Hope to see him in the Mizzou game.
That was Stetson's worse game this year. In addition to the 2 INTs, he threw 3-4 more that could have been picked. That said, everyone has bad games. Bottom line is your can't gripe about beating your biggest rival by 27.

That is where i am.
1 or 2 mistakes are one thing.
I only saw about 3 that he would want back. But 3 like that are symptomatic of poor decision making, poor vision, or a belief that he can hit throws that he physically cant.
Im not mad at him. But those are throws he made in 2019 where he looked like a backup. 5th year senior needs to look better.

He definitely isn't 100%. Kirby would have been more than justified to put JT in, especially in the 4th.
Probably was just blowing smoke to throw off Mullen.

That injury should be healed by now, he is fine.
Stetson has the locker room but JT will be better to win the Natty.
JT def needs to be worked into the game plan just to see

quote:I think Smart said something like JT was ready to go if needed but that Bennett got more reps the past two weeks so he was more primed to go given the desire for continuity with the team. If The turnovers didn't happen to end the half, we might have seen JT out there to start Q3 given the otherwise lackluster offensive production to that point.

That is, unless Smart was lying about Daniels' ability to play.

Kirby sent a clear message, this is Stetson Bennett’s team right now
Many of y’all need to wrap your heads around that fact…
If Stet stumbles, I hope JT steps up big, but I really hope Stet does not stumble…
at the end of the day, all I care is that the Dawgs win

I'm all for who ever Kirby decides. I trust his judgement, and believe he will play the QB that gives us the best shot, arm-chair coaches be darned.

You witnessed the Stetson Threshold this game. UGA loses this game against a playoff contender.
The defense will eventually have a mulligan game and need the offense to pull it out.

Possibly Kirby knew that if JT came in and lit it up there would truly be a QB controversy. Right now he feels like the consensus is to stay with the tried and true? Joust a guess. I sat 12 rows up yesterday and saw Stet get happy feet on 3rd and goal, immediately roll right, and completely ignore a wide open Darnell Washington. Something I don’t thin JT does in that situation. However, we were down there due to Stet’s legs on a 20 yard scramble. I’m sure that change has to be made. The two interceptions were pitifully under thrown and missed open receivers by two seconds.

This, the whole "continuity" argument, is typically hollow coach-speak.
One of three things occurred:
1. Kirby isn't talking out of his arse about continuity and completely believes this is Stet's job to lose.
2. JT wasn't completely healthy
3. JT was healthy but Kirby felt this was too big of a game to bring him in cold.
If 1, Kirby is a fricking idiot.
If 2, he's creating a QB controversy by declaring JT healthy.
If 3, we'll see JT start this Saturday.
It better be option 3 or he's REALLY going to make himself the most hated man in GA if he manages to not win a natty because of having Stetson fricking Bennett in at QB in the playoffs. No amount of recruiting success will overcome making this same goddamned mistake at the same goddamned position twice in the CFP within a few years.

You don't live in the real world. Welcome to the BKM

I hope so too… I really believe that Kirby will maintain his beloved status among Dawg Nation, but he really has made the “continuity” mistake before with Fromm that ended up with us playin Dwan Mathis last year and watching Justin Fields light it up at OSU. Kirby can recruit and develop on defense, but too often tries to force the offense to scheme towards providing the defense the chance to win the game. Monken is too good of an OC to stomach it much longer. It’s not helping him get back in the NFL line he intended it to.

It’s rust and precaution, not health.

What does that mean? Support this with facts.

We all see how it worked out for Mullen yesterday when he started a QB that has been injured for several games.

From what I saw yesterday, he possibly is saying that Stet can throw to open receivers, but hasn’t displayed the ability to throw receivers open. It was evident yesterday when our receivers were covered and he tried to forced throws that he simply isn’t capable of making. It seemed that JT could do that when he was QB1.

Stet has never thrown more than 21 passes in a game this season (and only did that once). JT is typically 30-40 passes per game. Monken is screaming to us, via the playcalling, that the less effective QB is currently starting.

He made some bad throws, but to say he can’t throw receivers open or make tight throws is simply untrue and we have lots of game film to show this.
