I thought I could tell an honest and real story I had heard and we could have a discussion about it. I was naive. I should have know better.

but if you hear that a black man was castrated by the klan, you didn’t hear the part where he raped his own daughter

I’ve heard about the KKK in some areas being just as concerned with gamblers, fornicators, etc and it’s interesting.

But don’t think for a second that all of their actions crimes black people were attempts at local justice. Not even a significant percentage

What? Those are real stories of likely factual occurrences. Sorry they hurt your feelings.

I don’t believe that, nor did I imply that.

I’ve also got an interesting WW2 story of a GI that was killed on his way to do something many would consider highly immoral, but I guess real stories of historical fact are frowned upon. Ok, back to rainbow and unicorn land.

I know someone (White) who is now deceased. He was born in 1923. When he was a boy of about 12 or 13. The Klan paid a visit to his alcoholic father.

They had a "talk" about him not taking of his wife and children. When they left a bundle of switches was left lying at the front door.

It was a warning that the next visit would be much more serious.

Used to be friends with a kid when I was in my teens whose grandfather was in the KKK. We would go out to their property and he had a framed certificate in his room that had all kinds of documentation that he was a member. They lived right by the river and he shot a black guy for walking a few steps onto the gravel driveway while walking down River Road.

K. Doesn't change my opinion of the organization, if that was your objective here. It's not uncommon for criminal organizations to do things like that to intimidate the community. The American Mafia enforced "morality" among families in their heyday. But it was "do as I say, not as I do."

Yeah, ok buddy. While those stories could be true, it's also just as likely you made all that up.

I don’t disagree. I’m not, as unbelievably ironic as this sounds, “white knighting” for the kkk, just sharing a real story. I don’t care if you believe it or not. My people aren’t even from this area and in fact, several died fighting for the union army just a generation prior. I bet there are countless other stories like this and even more of unimaginable brutality and disgrace the kkk subjected people to. This isn’t a, “hey, the kkk ain’t so bad” thread. They are sick and evil, but that doesn’t change any of the stories I was told.

The biggest problem is the last word, especially when preceded by honest and real. You have absolutely 0 idea if any of that shite occurred. What you brought was a pile of hearsay, about a relatively unlikable cast of characters. Nothing more, nothing less.

Yes, because everyone loves to make up stories about rape and abusive relatives. Believe what you want.

People don’t want to hear a story about how the KKK did something beneficial, and it’s not difficult to understand why

You're the one that got your feelings hurt.

Did you not think people would take exception to you trying to defend an organization that would kill and beat people up and ruin people's lives for no real reason. No one here cares for SJW shite, but the KKK were definitely scum.

Yeah they might've started out as something else but it doesn't matter lol. They are just a group of people so poor and ignorant they have to inflict pain and hatred on other people to make themselves feel better.

I didn’t defend the kkk. Just told two stories I had heard from a trusted source. I was then accused of fabricating petty detestable stories.
