Pretending Kentucky didn’t win 10 games 3 seasons ago.

He literally has it made there. He is from Ohio snd does well recruiting there being the closest SEC school.

If he is smart, he waits to see how the SEC realigns itself first.

If Auburn and Bama come to the East and become additional permanent opponents - he should jump at the first nice offer.

If it’s a pod set up that is favorable to him (games against Tennessee, Mizzou, Vandy, USC) - then it’s a lifetime type job.

I think Stoops has established himself as one of the better coaches. Kentucky gave him time, and with it, he has turned them into a solid football team. I could definitely see other schools come knocking, and he would be successful sooner rather than later if he inherits a decent roster. My neighbor is a diehard Penn St fan … he thinks Franklin may leave for USC, and if that were to happen, also seems to think Fickell and Stoops would be at the top of their board.

If Michigan or Penn State come calling, or another “blue blood” type program, I could see him jump; but I seriously doubt that he would make a lateral move

I think it would have to be a job he would want. I could see him leaving for Iowa, his alma mater, or maybe Michigan. I don't see him making any sort of a lateral move, would have to be a blue blood type school.

Wherever he goes, there will have to be Hardees as he must love him some thickburgers now.

He's already the 15th highest paid coach in the country with a cushy contract that gets an extension every year with 7 wins. He's got the backing of boosters, backing of the fans, 2nd winningest coach in school history, and close to his home state. I honestly don't see him leaving unless something major happens.

He’s not going anywhere. As long as he doesn’t have anymore scandals with much younger women. He owns a distillery here and loves Lexington. Pretty easy contract. However, expectations have changed in Lexington and he will have to deliver.

His agent would definitely get some calls, and he MIGHT entertain offers, but I suspect he is in a good spot for long-term success. Only if he longs for a brighter spotlight with an easier program to recruit to would he be actively seeking to leave UK.

That said, this off season may see a plethora of openings at schools with nice pedigrees. It isn't out of the realm that schools like FSU, Miami, Va. Tech, LSU, Georgia Tech, or Nebraska could open this year or next. Add to that possible shuffling of some coaches moving to and from big-name programs with the USC opening being in play for that.
