Any formations with 4, 8, and 27 on the field?

The first play had Hunter and Tank together

The Penn State game showed we had the talent to run the ball yet we didn’t utilize the running game enough to force them to prove they could stop it.

Georgia State game- Also necessitated a heavy dose of passing offense. There was one wrinkle where Tank lined up at RB and Shivers in the slot that opened up a 27 yard jet sweep for Shivers and that was probably our best non GW TD play. That wrinkle could open up the running game and add a few tricks off that formation.

LSU- the plan was a mixture of QB runs, short passes, and backyard ball while the running backs were seldom used (Jarquez had 3 carries and 53 yards on the game winning drive but finished with 6 carries and 65 yards.)

At this point it still seems like we aren’t willing to impose our will with the running game but I see opportunities opening up because of our RB depth, Nix’s talent, and his affinity for rolling out. It also seems like Bobo doesn’t think we can hit the deep ball.

- Like it or not, Nix is either going to roll out or prematurely escape. I don’t know if Bo was coached out of running against Georgia State but it seems like this week he was at a full go. I hope we continue allowing Nix to impact the running game with his running abilities with designed runs and outside the pocket passes. The opportunity for receivers to finally break open is there if they break toward the scrambling quarterbacks or if the DBs get lost in the chaos. High upside and high risk though as all it would take is one sack to flip the odds against us for that drive.

-RB depth is huge for us. Tank and Hunter are studs and Worm has been exceptional in space. I see no reason why we don’t attack inside and outside more with different combinations of both on the field. Running back depth has been under utilized at this point though. This is very concerning.
